Cracked after a while... shame as it was a lovely colour. It does add bulk to your laptop, and will leave scratch marks too - unless you add to the rubber pads to keep the plastic from touching your laptop.

Had this around six months and it fits my MacBook perfectly. It has been lugged around cybercafés and wi-fi hotspots in Europe for most of that time and I have taken it thoroughly for granted that my MacBook shell is protected from scratches and dirt. Excellent product.

Spec cases are very good. I've bought two.
They look good; better than the anonymous white.
They protect the mac and are a good, easy fit. They come off easily if, for example, you need to remove the battery (rare).
Buy one, you won't regret.

erm....Its a case... and its red.

My first impressions after a few weeks of having this on my macbook is that I'm impressed.

Not sure why I went for the red over the clear but once it was on, my macbook looks like a totally different machine and I don't regret it. Putting it on is very straight forward as it just clips on. Getting it off is a little tricky but do-able, it certainly doesn't feel like its going to fall off at a moments notice.

It adds very little to the size and weight of the case (I can still fit it into my insight slip case, but its a bit of a squeeze now) and just gives the sense of being able to take a few more knocks than before. I've taken to just carrying it around without the slip case and putting it straight into my bag's laptop section as a result.

I was worried about it overheating, but TBH I haven't noticed any increase in temp overall.

The only problem I have had is that the hole for the headphone port is a little small and will not take some of my chunkier 3.5mm jacks, I may have a go with a file at some point to make it a few mm larger so I'm not too fussed as I can get my regular headphones to plug in.

better than slip case

I bought this red case at the same time as my black macbook. (got that elsewhere - sorry Amazon!).

I didn't want another slip case because it's too much of a hassle constantly zipping and unzipping etc. This works just fine. The macbook just goes straight into my laptop bag. Unlike some others I haven't noticed any over-heating - and I do check my emails and surf the web in front of the tv in the evening so I think if it was a problem I would have noticed by now.

The only problem so far has been people asking me where I got it from.

It's worth its money...

I bought it becuase I had the white 160GB macbook. After a few months without any protection and a few falls my mac had a few scratches so I decided to get the case.

Pros (for me)

Doesn't break easily... actually even the plastic above the disk enterance has endured so many falls and pulls by my cats and accidentally me yet it never cracked.

If you have pets you will love it as you will no longer have to clean it every time yor pet sleeps on it.

Your 13'' will also probably fit much better in any 13"-15" laptop case out there.

And finally it gives your mac the style and colour you wanted instead for having to compromise with the white & silver for years.

Cons

Somehow after a 8-10 month use there are scratches in the inside of the case yet none on the mac... (No idea how that happened)

If you have the white macbook the glossy plastic starts to mat near the touchpad. I believe that's from the friction plastic to plastic but it's nothing to worry about as it's not a big deal.

When it will be time to clean it for the first time you will realise that the dirt is mainly located now near the battery and near the ends of the case as well but most of it will be glued on the mac as the pressure and the heat will just stuck them there. Clean carefully haveing you mac turned off and not merely on
hold.

Overall it worths to buy the case. Personally I was getting sick whenever I located a new scrach on my macbook so this purchase is worth every penny I paid for!

I have to say that after i had already bought this item i noticed that the picture was of an older model macbook and thus i started to worry. I have a White Macbook early 2009 and the picture shows a silver macbook with the cd drive on the front so i automatically believed i had bought the wrong priduct but i didn't have anyone else to blame but myself. So when it arrived this morning i wasn't expecting much yet when i opened the packaging i was surpirsed to see the case was the exact one for my macbook. i was very happy with this and put it straight on my macbook. And i have to say i am very impressed with this product as it offers protection and style. I had a skin on my macbook before this and it became very annoying as the corner began to lift up. So all in all i believe this product is brilliant and i advise anyone with a White (Dirt Magnet) Macbook to invest in this
