The first one I got I had to RMA because of a busted display. The second was usable but the display flickers every time you move it.Overall construction of the display panel is very shoddy and flimsy, The keyboard keys protrude from the base is a way that makes them easy to damage. The HDMI port doesn't work properly if you close the lid - you get audio problems with a lot of apps and frequent hard crashes.

It does what it says on the tin. The battery is not brilliant as expected from the laptop of this calibre. Only criticism I do have is the colour on the keyboard has started to come off. This means that I can see the lights inside the laptop. The extra fans is a good feature, but they can be noisey - headphones usually rectify this issue. I have to date player MW3, Black Ops, Warcry, Ghosts, Battlefield and they all seem to work perfectly even on high resolution.

A really powerful laptop, great for editing, watching videos and especially gaming. Really impressed with the performance this hardware can pull off.
The design is solid and I love the keyboard, the keys feel great and the lighting isn't too distracting. The screen is 1080p, and the colors and contrast is perfect for me. This is matched by great hardware that will allow you to play games in 1080p with 60 fps, with the games I've tested so far doing this at max-high settings, which is very impressive for my first gaming laptop.
The only issue is the fan noise, which isn't so much of an issue for me so it hasn't negatively affected the score. It can a bit too noisy when you're playing games. I recommend getting a laptop cooler stand, many of which are available on amazon, to keep it a little bit cooler and less noisy, though I'd look for other laptops if fan noise is going to be an issue for you.

First off, the model supplied is the GE72 6QF, not 6QE. This doesn't change the features or specs stated, but the 6QE model doesn't exist so this may help anyone trying to find out more about the laptop.

If your looking for a gaming laptop, you'll find it hard to find a better one than this for the price. With the latest 'skylake' intel cpu, gtx 970m and 16gb of DDR4 ram, this is a really capable machine, running the majority of games on high or ultra with no problems. There are alot of nice features on it aswell, like 'shift', which offers you 3 settings depending on what your doing to conserve battery life, a cooler boost feature which let's you ramp up the fans on the fly when you need the extra cooling, and usb 3.1 built in which is a nice future proofing feature.

Good points:
Excellent gaming power from the 970m
The Steelseries RGB keyboard is great to use, and looks fantastic
Great viewing angles on the screen
Optical drive (which alot don't have these days)
Brushed aluminum exterior is sturdy and looks very nice
M.2 sata means it's literally booted up from totally off in seconds

Bad points:
Not really a bad point but something to be expected with a laptop of this nature, battery life isn't great, and while gaming on performance mode with full power, even while plugged in to mains power, the battery will drop a few %, 2-4% in an hour or so.

It can get hot while under full load, so the fan boost is essential , and the fans under full power are quite loud. I use a headset so it doesn't bother me, but if you don't it would be an issue.

The built in speakers are not the best, not bad but could be better.Read more ›

If you are a serious gamer (dota 2/ cs go/.) that is permantly on the go, and needs also to play new games on high presets, this is the machine you need!!! Good price and it come by one of the best sellers for laptops. Recommended to buy with coolmaster laptop cooler as it is getting a bit warm on high settings and 7+ hours gaming.

Overall, the laptop is fast - when you want to use it for web browsing, checking emails or daily office work. Initially, it would not work with Adobe software - even though NVIDIA card drivers were updated and all settings correct (the system kept freezing during work and saving, and I had to keep restarting the laptop, losing time and precious work data.) Eventually, I had to reinstall the system and software - and finally got the laptop to work. It now works very well and it is fast. The fan is quite noisy, but this does not bother me greatly. US keyboard - I use a graphic tablet and a cordless keyboard, so no problem at all!
I do recommend this laptop for graphic designers and illustrators, but if you should have any issues caused by Adobe software - you may need to reinstall the software and all drivers again.
