2008, eight years after the release of the acclaimed "Songs From the Ocean Floor", a record which was labelled as "Masterpiece" by several music critics around the work and a successful reunion of the band Winger, Kip Winger returns with a true career defining statement and, once again, another CD which witnesses the creative evolution of the American composer. The music offered on the record is truly a flow that has no boundaries, from the fresh rock approach of songs like "Every Story Told", "Nothing" or "Reason To Believe", to the Pop sensibilities of "Where Will You Go" and "California", to the acoustic mood of "Pages and Pages" and "In Your Eyes Another Life", down to the unbelievable instrumental piece "Ghosts", "From the Moon to the Sun" brings the listener to a journey in a kaleidoscope of different moods.

This album is light years ahead of the old flossy-haired rock of the 1980s and 1990s. I'm not knocking it, I have "In the Heart of the Young" in my collection, but anyone expecting something following the same well trodden head-banger formula should forget that, because this album is totally different. It's a wonderful cosmopolitan fusion of ideas and concepts. Some new, some borrowed, but certainly an incredible listening journey. In places there are echos of Floyd, early Genesis, Giltrap, Beatles, and even some Debussy. This is real slow burner, that is to say the more you listen to it the more you'll love it. I guarantee there will be some very surprised listeners and I will be surprised if you don't feel the "wow" factor. Try it through some high quality studio grade headphones for a rare listening experience. Truely amazing...

This is my first written review for Amazon, reasons being... this album is just so damn incredible!! From the Darker colours of 'Nothing' to the haunting yet Beautiful chord changes and vocals on 'Pages & Pages' this album delivers! I recieved this as a gift for Christmas (2009) and i'm still getting chills from the draw jopping compositions created by Kip, this record proves that Winger is a true genuine musician aswell as a talented artist.
To all Winger fans, if you love Kips Vocals and musical ideas then this album is a must. Also check out 'Songs from the Ocean floor' - Nathan
