Product Description

Introduction:
The AF Extension Tube Set can transform your Lens into a Macro Lens. It moves the lens from the film or digital sensor. The closer the focus is, the greater the magnification. The extension tube does not affect image quality as there is no optics inside. In comparison, a close up filter is often blamed for degrading the quality of image.

This is used by attaching between camera body and lens of the 35mm single-lens reflex camera. It comes as a set of tube of different lengths which singly or in combination makes it usable in 7 different lengths.

It couples perfectly with the camera's automatic diaphragm. With cameras of TTL, AE(Through-the-lens,Atuomatic Exposure) type it gives perfect coupling except when combined with electronic flash AE unit.

These extension tubes are good value. Much cheaper than a dedicated macro lens and much lighter too! I have only used them to play about and see if they work. I was surprised, autofocus actually seems ok in good light using my D7100 and 18-140 kit lens. Did not really expect this. I am just moving over to Nikon and this restores my macro capability for very little outlay. If I was using macro every day then I would probably go for the Sigma OS 105 macro, but for shots of a few flowers and bees these seem the ticket. The bonus is that I can take one or two in my backpack and get macro capability on a hike with just a couple of grams extra weight. Doozy!

These work very well with a prime lens, especially in good lighting conditions, not so well with a zoom, but that's always been true of extension tubes. With a 50mm lens I had no trouble focusing with all combinations of tubes; occasionally it seemed to "hunt" a bit before focusing properly, but results were very good once it locked onto the correct focus. With a zoom results showed spherical aberration, especially at shorter focal lengths.

There are a couple of minor design problems - most notably, if the 12mm tube is used alone or nearest the camera body it's a little difficult to operate the lens release button underneath it - but nothing serious. All moving parts work smoothly, even when all three tubes are combined, and the electronics mesh perfectly. They're a little bulkier than old-fashioned mechanical tubes, but that's inevitable given all the mechanical and electrical connections, and their width makes it a little easier to hold the camera steady at longer extensions.

Although they're made primarily of plastic they seem to be very strong, and I've had no trouble using them with a 50mm 2.8 lens or a lightweight zoom. I'd be a little uneasy trusting them with an unsupported heavy lens or with the weight of a camera body on a tripod-mounted lens, but I actually have no reason to think they'll give problems, it's just a hang-over from the days when everything photographic was made of metal.

Overall I've found them to be a good, reliable, and inexpensive choice for macro work, a lot cheaper than many of the alternatives on offer, and I'm happy to recommend them.

good alternative to a macro lens been using these with my nikon D5300 and the lens i have been using is the nikon 50mm F1.8 and a tamron 70-200 F2.8 VC USD. the lens you use make sure that it has a very large aperture because the DOF is incredibly small.

Unbelievable ! I am using them on my Nikon 5200. I have used them in conjunction with the kit 18-55mm lens and had some pretty good results. My favourite combination so far is with my Nikon 50mm prime lens. Take a little getting used to with light and focus, but I really can't fault them so far.

These are perfect for those looking to get into macro photography without the need to but a specialist macro lens.Been using them with my Nikon D3200 and a 18-55mm lens and had some great results especially when using a ring flash.Even though you have to use on a manual setting the camera will auto focus but it is easier to focus using the zoom.

Really enjoyed using these for close ups. It took a bit of getting used to because the depth of focus is reduced and the distance to subject for focussing is limited. I found good tips on U-Tube. I find it best to set the aperture to F8 and the focus to manual. Set the focus to the nearest position and move the camera until the subject is in focus. The smaller the focal length of the lens the higher the magnification. My 50mm and 85mm lenses have been quite useful.

These are truly fantastic. I do a lot of macro photography and normally use either a dedicated macro lens or a macro filter but I don't think I will bother with either now as these are SO good.

The fit beautifully and click into place super easily. The quality of photos they allow you to take is fantastic.

I am very happy indeed.

Arrived before expected and well packaged. Easy to attach and detach from camera Nikon D5200. Only had a little play up to now, but really pleased with results! Camera works well, but better to use manual focus as I expected. I had been trying to buy second hand Kelko tubes, but these at a fraction of the price appear to work perfectly. I put an awful lot of research into various extension tubes and these seemed to be the only ones with so much positive feedback for my particular camera.
