The toy is not remote controlled in the traditional sense, as it has a wire leading from the contol pad to his botty. No wonder he roars when you press the button, I would roar if I had a wire up there too!

There are two chunky buttons on the control pad, ideal for young hands to press and very simple to use. One button allows the dino to move forwards, and the other makes him roar and move his head. This is really cool and exciting for young kids, but has a few limitations.

Firstly, the dino is always connected to the wire, so you can't play with him in the traditional sense. Also, he only walks forwards, and you can't control his direction. Thirdly, the toy is quite flimsy, and I always take exception to toys which are aimed at young kids but are not designed to take the rough handling that is inevitable for a child's toy.

We used to have loads of fun with this toy, especially when my nephew came round with an RC robot and we had a robot wars tournament to see which toy could knock the other one over. The dino always won! The toy was a big hit with my son's schoolfriends, who always made a beeline for the toy when they came to play.

Despite these upsides, the toy just wasn't built to last, and problems set in with this much played with toy. First, the soft plastic on the head tore and ripped, leaving the insides of the toy exposed. Second, the fragile wiring snapped, leaving the dino able to roar, but not walk. The final snag was when the whole tail broke off, leaving the toy unable to balance and stand up properly. It was at this point that I realised the toy could no longer be played with safely and was too far gone to be repaired, so sadly it ended up in the bin.
