The ZTE MF730M Premium Dongle is a new addition to Three's range of dongles. The company currently has two dongles to choose from which are the Huawei Standard dongle and the ZTE premium dongle. The difference between the two is that the standard dongle runs on Three's HSPA+ technology and the premium dongle works on the newer and faster DC-HSDPA technology.
As a result the premium dongle offers download speeds up to 40% faster than the standard Huawei dongle. The surprising thing is that the premium dongle costs the same as the standard dongle on Pay Monthly tariffs and is slightly cheaper on some Pay As You Go tariffs.
Simply plug the dongle into your USB port in your laptop to get mobile broadband on the go via Three's Advanced 3G network.

It has never once failed to connect, nor dropped from 3G to GPRS as other dongles can do. Set up is easy too - you literally just push it into a USB slot and a few seconds later, you're online. And no need to register if you don't want to!
It comes boxed, with the simcard seperate from the dongle.
First I tried to use the smaller sim, and inserting it from the side, but the dongle wasn;t having any of them, so in the end I opted to remove the cover and insert the sim as full size (just popped the smaller ersion back into the bigger setting).
As soon as that was done, it got plugged into the laptop, and to be honest I was expecting a longwinded process. It wasn't.
Instead of finding a network to log onto, as soon as I went into my internet browser (FF), a new tab popped up, asking me to "register". Registering was very easy indeed, all you need to add is e-mail address (it asks for other things too, but the only thing needed to fill in is the e-mail).
As soon as that was done - I was online!
There's also a link to check "your account", where you can see how much allowance you got left.
All in all - extremely easy to use, but the 1GB that comes preloaded on it doesnt last long. At all. And the website for it is pants - full of ads, and looks very unprofessional.
That said, it's quick enough, and all that's needed after the initial registering, is to stick the dongle in the laptop, and it'll work straight away.
I bought this just in case the complexes WiFi wasn't adequate. It turned out that I could only get it, in certain spots in our apartment, and at times it wouldn't work at all.
This was a god send. It was easy to use, working by just plugging it in to my laptop. I did't need to pre register it, and it came pre loaded with credit.
I did have a look in the shops, such as Curry's and phone shops first, but they were selling the dongle for the same price, but with out credit already on it, which would mean I had to pay more, so I opted to purchase it on Amazon.
On occasions, I did have to click on settings to switch it on, other times it came on straight away when I plugged it in (I plugged it in, only when required).
It worked every time I used it and I never had any problem with it.
The connection speed wasn't up to WiFi standard, but it was faster than the old 'dial up' internet and not painfully slow.
I managed to do all my work without a hitch and the dongle still had credit on it when we returned.
I now have a useful gadget for when I'm travelling and needing to work (i.e trains),
It just gives me that piece of mind that I can always be connected to the internet when needed.
You can add more credit it to it by visiting the Three web page and adding it to the mobile number that is assigned to the dongle.
That said, EE works best in inner cities with 4G at lightning speeds (this dongle is NOT 4G rated).
