The book is quite expensive for my budget so i have been staring at it for a long time until i finally realised that it will never get any cheaper and i treated myself. M&Ms work is very inspiring and there is a distinctive style. i enjoyed the interviews about how they work together. great book!

ignore the other review, this book compile the most influential and inspriring graphic, fashion and art works of the last 2 decades. every person even remotely interested in the creative fields should get a copy. wonderful clean design by GTF as well, and great printing and paper stock, an extensive non expensive book is a rarity these days. also contains lots of very inspiring intervews about their creative process.

Great visuals, but a lack of context for such a successful design studio. Personally I have would have like more emphasis on M/M ethos and approach to design. There is a emphasis on client/designer relationship which is an interesting insight but it's written without direction.

I would think twice if you are considering getting this for its fashion content. There is fashion, sure, but it's not the main focus. For every gorgeous fashion layout there seem to be 5 on typography/product design. And that is fine, as that's what the guys are also about, but I find those for the most part dull (that's not to say that the spreads from Vogue Italia & Paris are not dated & dull).

More complaints:
-The use of some of my favorite images has been wasted by printing faded photographs of them (for example: Balenciaga 2000 & some Yamamoto catalogs).
- The guys seem to have gotten the impression that anything with their doodling on top is a hit...
- Alot of the commercial content looks dated and, because M/M have been so influential & everywhere, generic.
- Arena Homme+ gets 4 spreads, while Purple magazine gets 0 pages.
- "A" (Ann-Catherine) in The Alphabet-series is printed twice. (edit: The "A" in The Alphamen-series is printed twice too, so that it reads "alphamen", one letter per page, on consecutive pages. So pretentious it borders on cool.)

So, as beautiful and affordable this book may look, I find it's also irritating and repetitive. If you work in typography/graphic design you might need this for reference. I still suggest that you, if possible, have a flip through it in the shops before ordering. On the other hand, if you are in the market for a disposable coffee-table book, this does have a lot going for it: it looks new. Oh and the bookmarks(?) pictured on amazon did not come with my (sealed) copy; if someone knows what they are/where to find them please leave a comment.
