Product description

Think bands from Oxford are fey, jangly or arty indie types? Think again. This is Headcount Oxford's 'punk metal titans' as described by one writer and this is 'Lullabies for Dogs' the band's 4th studio album. Lullabies for Dogs continues with the trademark hook laden, heavy melodic sound that has become the band's calling card. The Headcount of 2013 features none other than the talents of Marco Pirroni of Adam and the Ants/Sinead O'Connor fame lending his distinctive style to the existing sonic platter resulting in 11 tracks of uncompromising, uptempo, joyous power. Lead track, News Corpse deals with the fallout of Leveson with a scathing attack on Murdoch, Politicians and the corrupt, whilst Black Dogs Days has been picked up by the mental health charirty SANE as part of their Black Dogs campaign. www.sane.org.uk/resources/audio_gallery/ Formed in 1999 by Rob Moss (guitars & vocals), Stef Hale (drums) and Rob Jeffrey (bass) have been referred to as 'hell bound pig-fooking devil dogs' and sounding like 'Adam and the Ants being sodomised by Therapy?'. That should give you an idea. Lullabies For Dogs will be released on August 19th on Malicious Damage records through Cargo, and builds on the success of the KKKK rated 2002 debut (which also featured Marco) 'It's a business doing pleasure with you', 2004's Paul Raven (Killing Joke, RIP) produced Die Monkey Die and 2008's 'To The Point'. 14 years on from forming, it's unmistakably Headcount, big, pounding drums, driving, killer bass, and full guitar laden choruses. The subject matter likewise. Politics, greed, religion and love. Headcount still here barking it out!

Really impressed with this. Not listened to Headcount for some years and Lullabies for Dogs has reminded me why I lie them so much.
