I had avoided reading Jackie Collins previously (for no good reason) but now I'm hooked! She has such tremendous insight into the underbelly of society one wonders where and how she acquired her knowledge! Wherever and however, the book is great. I'll be reading the next one in the series once I've read some of my ebook backlog! Easy to buy, just takes a time to read everything!

LOVED IT!!!!!!!! i read Chances a few months ago and loved that. This was just as good.. so gripping at the end i couldn't read it fast enough .. i couldn't guess the whole way through who Lucky was on trial for murdering .. i guessed all the wrong people throughout .. so i was pleased with who it was when i twigged - but not right till the end ! FAB read .. proper page turner.

This is my first experience of a Jackie Collins book. For years I have avoided them as I studied english lit and was always told that it was no good for the brain! Well I decded to give it a go and I loved it! The main character Lucky is strong, independent and a little bit cruel but likable.

The writing style is great- like watching a brilliant soap. This is a real page turner. I will be making some more Jackie Collins purchases very soon!

Brilliant as always, fast paced and highly entertaining!!!

Just to comment on some of the negative remarks about Jackie's books...... Not all the characters look stunning and amazing but most do because the books are set in NY, LA, Vegas etc. People ARE obsessed with their looks and do whatever it takes. Therefore, the characters are actually very realistic.

The women are not always independent and strong, some are very weak and dependant on various people and just as an example, in 'Lucky', Eden is a battered mistress. How is that strongly independent???

Who wants to read a book where the characters are in LA and they just work as waitresses??? They have high flying jobs with a lot going on and then other characters are whores or sex slaves (Carrie - Chances).

Yes, the girls play hard to get, rightly so, but there are plenty of one night stands and affairs, both long and short and sometimes it IS the best sex that they have had. There are also couples married or not that have no chemistry.

Basically, Jackie Collins has a style of writing and stories that can be controversial. If you don't like it, don't read it!!!

I was brought up on Jacky Collins and loved the whole Gino and Lucky Santangelo 'saga'. However,
this book kept reliving too much of previous books which I had read already so quite a lot of the book
bored me. For readers that havent read the previous books they will be able to understand so I see
why Jackie had to put this in.

I loved this book. I had it on my kindle for going on holiday and read it over the course of a couple of days. A great plot which doesnt require too much concentration - perfect for lying by the pool or on the beach!

If you want a book that once you start you don't want to have to put down until you have finished then this is it. Jackie Collins' books are always great fun to read on holiday or travelling or even just as relaxation in the evening and I wasn't disappointed with this one.

A book that lives up to the expertise of Jackie Collins' books. A fascinating story but the advice would be to read her first book called "Chances" which gives the background to this book. Absolutely recommended.
