If you want to read about the bands and musicians he played with, the tours and their dates and anecdotes pertaining to some performances, then you will be happy. If you hope to read a balanced account of his life then save your money as this does not happen.
I bought Greg Lake's book with no premature expatiation. I embraced the book with an open mind - and I got value for my money, as I have every time l bought a new record with E.L.P. This is Greg's words. This is HIS story & what HE wanted to reveal to the public. l could almost hear Greg's inner voice going thru the page's. All the highlight of his career as an musicians & more. From childhood to the end of life. Greg Lake don't kiss & tell, he's a gentleman - he speaks from his heart - humble & thank full for his journey in life. Greg Lake cherish his privacy, l respect that. The book is well written & full of grace, respect, love for life & his fellow musicians. It's a delightful ride from the beginning, to the end.
Im a fan of his intelligent, his humor, his worm, his voice & his brilliant skills as an musicians & singer. I was touched by his soul. Whatever mistakes he made in life, are not mine to judge.
Greg Lake once said " You should never wish to meet your idols" - meaning you will find out they are just humans. At the end of the day, we all go to the bathroom.
His legacy is out in public & can never be erased or defended by himself. If you're hoping for slippery intimate details, l guess Greg Lake didn't write his biography to you. For me, it was an honor & a pleasure to read.
C'est La Vie...
The only negative l can say is, that the biography & his life ended too soon - I didn't wanted the stories to end....
💕 Love & thoughts to Regina & Natasha for sharing your beloved husband & father to the fans. It can't have been easy all the time. And to Stewart Young, thank you for your touching eulogy in the book. I smiled & cried all the way to the end......
Lisbeth K - Denmark.
I carry the dust of a journey
That cannot be shaken away
It lives deep within me
For I breathe it every day
You and I are yesterdays answers
The earth of the past come to flesh
Eroded by times rivers
To the shapes we now possess.
Come share of my breath and my substance
And mingle our streams and our times
In bright infinite moments
Our reasons are lost in our eyes....
