What happens when your kidnapped and nearly broken?
Meet the lovely Lydia Hidalgo. Lydia is still so defiant and determined as she and her family are sentenced to death. Sentenced to death by the hands of the evil Mexican drug cartel. But not knowing if Lydia will survive, her only one request is that her only sister will be cared for.
A extremely hard daring rescue...
Meet SEAL Clint Archer. Clint and his team mates will stop at nothing to rescue Lydia, and her family from the evil Mexican drug cartel captors. After Clint having to carry this brave woman for five days straight through the jungle, suddenly creates a bond that he can no longer resist.
All the Hidalgo family are clinging on to dear life...
The closer the SEALS and Hidalgo's get to civilization; Lydia’s chance of survival becomes. The Strong and brave men of the Midnight Delta SEAL team work so desperately hard to get Lydia the help she needs to survive. While each hour that passes Clint finds himself losing his heart more each day in the need to protect Lydia.
Loved it, totally recommend it.
Clint and his team of SEALS are dropped into the jungle to rescue the Hidalgo family, Lydia's father is needed to testify against some corrupt DEA agents and a slimy Senator. But once they find the family they realise that Lydia has been horrifically tortured and it takes them a gruelling 5 days to get to their extraction point. Once back stateside Clint spends time with Lydia whilst she recovers. But the danger is not over and they are soon on the run from corrupt law enforcement.
As they run for Lydia's life they finally give in to the intense, slow burn, passion that has been simmering between them since he rescued her.
There is the added bonus of meeting some of her hinky deep web contacts, who are a protective bunch! I'm really hoping we continue to meet them in further books of this series!!! I also loved that although Clint and Lydia get their HEA, the story does not end as there is still danger afoot and aimed at her sister, Beth!
Excitement, passion, intrigue and snarky banter between the queen dork and nerd king is adorable. I fell in love with these characters and was so sad when I got to the end, I sooo wanted more. Fabulous read!!!
The heroine in this book shows the real life difficulties almost everybody at sometime or another experiences when you unconditionally love someone but they disappoint you and the internal battle you face. She felt realistic and contrived she showed strength and determination but also vulnerability, it was great that she allowed someone to care for after considering everyone else despite her disappointment with her parents she certainly deserved a happily ever after and it looks like she got it.
As for the hero he was just yummy and as our heroine would say I could eat him up with a spoon. He also showed great strength when considering his profession docent come as a big surprise but does surprise is his vulnerability like when he was afraid she wouldn't make it out of the jungle. I'm not suggesting that a big burly navy seal can't be vulnerable but he just seemed so in tune with what she needed, what I adored most about him was that he didn't take a heavy handed approach and try and put in her place he included her in everything even if he was concerned for her welfare she was a grown women and after everything she went through including her was the.Read more ›
Lydia Hidalgo is a very lucky lady ( Well I guess she wasn't when she was kidnapped) but when she has 'Her Loyal SEAL' Clint Archer and his teammates to rescue Lydia and her family from their captors, she is one lucky lady.
Clint has to carry Lydia for five days through the hellish conditions the jungle throw at them and by the time she is in the hands of doctors who are trying desperately to save her life, Clint is head over heals in love with this tough and smart lady, the fact that they are both Computer nerds fulfilled my geeky heart!
Clint - well he was just 'Sigh' strong, loyal and determined to ensure Lydia survived and not only that got to spend the rest of her life happy and with him.
Reaching civilization is not the end of this story, oh no - the team have a hard task on their hands keeping The Hidalgo family from the clutches of the Mexican cartel leader Guzman.
The story is full of suspense and twists and turns, and I had a few catch my breath moments when I thought that Ms O'Leary was going to make me cry both in anguish and finally by the end that "ahhh" moment! I can't tell you which one, because that will spoil the story for you.
