The Trusted Original
Lowepro was born from one daring mountaineer’s desire to capture some of the world’s most unexplored beauty spots, with just a camera in tow. Greg Lowe made it his mission to create only the best in innovative, cutting-edge equipment, to protect extreme sporting lovers’ cameras and cinematography equipment from the heart-pounding elements.
The humble Colorado garage beginning of the world’s first Internal Frame Backpack in 1967 pays tribute to Lowe’s enduring belief that he could be the one to design a close-fitting and supportive backpack to transport camera and recording equipment that had otherwise never been seen before. Climbers, mountain bikers, skiers and hikers could now comfortably carry their equipment to heights that only they had known, capturing intimate sights for the rest of the world to see.
Lowe’s first defying feat paved the way for the original Soft-sided Protective Camera Bag, also to be the first of its time.
And with that, the Lowepro mark took off. Fast forward to today and Lowepro has seen the creation of the first ever waterproof camera backpack, and continues to innovate each year to keep up with the demands of a fast-paced, ever changing world of technology and photography.
Proven all-weather protection
Designed to deliver superior weather protection, wherever you are. The classic Nova series is perfect for a wide range of photography types and environments. Protect your gear from rain, snow, dust and sand with the built-in All Weather AWCover, and keep your equipment safe with the sturdy overflap lid, security buckle and internal mesh pockets.
Ideal for carrying and protecting popular photography gear including a DSLR with attached lens, multiple extra lenses, flash, memory cards and accessories.
The Nova series features one large main compartment to easily fit a camera and accessories. Adjustable padded dividers make it simple to customise gear storage to work for you.
Dual easy-access pockets add more room to keep memory cards and accessories, whilst the front zip pocket and mesh side pockets are large enough to hold any extra personal belongings.
To ensure comfort when carrying, the Nova series comes with a cushioned grab handle and fully removable cushioned shoulder strap. A built-in belt loop adds an additional carrying option.
Ideal for all photographers
Professional and amateur photography equipment needs special care to protect from the elements and daily stresses. The Nova series has been built with day-to-day activities in mind, so all you need to worry about is capturing that perfect shot. An exterior constructed from rugged nylon and polyester provides extra weatherproofing, whilst the soft material inner lining cushions sensitive camera gear from any impact and scratches that may cause damage.
Ideal for outdoor use, the Nova series features the innovative waterproof AWCover built-in to the underside of the case, ready to protect from all weather conditions. The smart design means you can access the main compartment with the cover in use, and quickly fold away when no longer needed. Cards and accessories are fully protected in the internal pockets, ready for quick changes.
Feature-packed and compact, the Nova series is a great all-rounder to add to your professional kit, or an ideal shoulder bag for photography enthusiasts. Made to fit most popular digital SLR cameras, a range of lenses plus additional memory cards and accessories, you can organise and carry your gear with ease.

Size wise, the bag is great for a camera and a couple of lenses. I've comfortably had a Nikon D5200 with battery grip and prime lens attached as well as a spare lens in the main compartment. There are two removable Velcro padded dividers included so you can arrange things according to the size of your camera. As it's also quite small, I've never had problems taking it on aeroplanes even if I've already got a big additional carry on bag,
There are plenty of other extra compartments for accessories, including front and rear zipped compartments for quick access to things like filters, batteries or cleaning accessories. The internal compartments are good for spare SD cards and other accessories. The netted side pockets are a nice touch and I find them useful for keeping the camera charger in. The included strap is good quality with metal connectors and a good shoulder pad for comfort, although I do find mine has a squeak from time to time as I walk with it.
I've used the bag in very light rain with no issues, but definitely wouldn't use the bag in anything more than that. The rain cover is included and in a hidden compartment at the bottom of the bag. Its attached to the bag so you can't lose it which is a nice touch as I've lost rain covers for other bags. With the rain cover attached though, you obviously forfeit the quick access to the zip compartments on the front and back of the bag.
As an enthusiast or beginner bag it is great, but as soon as your camera gear starts growing, you'll most likely find you'll need a bigger bag. I still use my bag for my backup DSLR and accessories and I can't knock the build quality of the bag. Hope this helps.

I have not tested it out in the rain so I cannot comment on it being weather proof or water proof . It has or includes a waterproof cover which so far I have not needed to use . The padding is substantial to protect your camera inside from knocks and bumps. The only let down so far is the handle covering which deteriorated causing specks of black material to be emitted sticking to your hands and leaving a deposit in my cupboard and other surfaces . My wife very kindly totally covered the carrying handle with a strong nylon fabric , stitching it to the handle encapsulating it curing the problem . I was fortunate to buy this for £15.00 which was an absolute bargain . It isn't worth £51.54 which Prime is currently asking for it in my opinion . Other sellers elsewhere are asking £39.00 plus delivery charge for the same item which is still a bit steep .
Considering the need to overcome the handle problem mentioned above , I don't think it is worth more than £25.00 maximum .
On the down side I don't think this bag is as well made as other Lowepro bags I have had. There is no base protection (as on my smaller Lowepro Adventura bag Lowepro SH 120 II Adventura Bag for Camera ) which I still use when I only want the one lens on the camera. I really don't like the look or feel of the velvet material on the inside of the handle or the plastic non-slip material on the inside of the shoulder strap (though this latter is easily swapped with my other Lowepro bag).

On the down side I don't think this bag is as well made as other Lowepro bags I have had. There is no base protection (as on my smaller Lowepro Adventura bag [[ASIN:B00U3TQVII Lowepro SH 120 II Adventura Bag for Camera]]) which I still use when I only want the one lens on the camera. I really don't like the look or feel of the velvet material on the inside of the handle or the plastic non-slip material on the inside of the shoulder strap (though this latter is easily swapped with my other Lowepro bag).
There's just one small thing that bugs me. It's the way it opens. I wish it had an easier access to the camera itself, because when you open it, the entire top has to turn against you and it is a little incovenient to open it when you are wearing it. I wish the camera had a separate compartment with an easy to access kind of way. With that being said, I still love this bag and probably won't stop using it anytime soon.
What is less comfortable with all of this inside is the weight, especially over just one shoulder. For me, this bag is just too large, even if I remove some of the contents before leaving. It's great if I'm going to an indoor event and can leave it on a chair or table, or for storage at home, but for walking about a city or through hills, I think I'd prefer a much smaller shoulder bag or a backpack of similar size. I don't want to dock a star for this - it's not really a fault of the bag itself, but it's worth keeping in mind whether this might be a consideration for your use.
I haven't used the pull-out all-weather jacket, but it's held up fine nonetheless in light-to-moderate showers.
