From the manufacturer
The Trusted Original
Lowepro was born from one daring mountaineer’s desire to capture some of the world’s most unexplored beauty spots, with just a camera in tow. Greg Lowe made it his mission to create only the best in innovative, cutting-edge equipment, to protect extreme sporting lovers’ cameras and cinematography equipment from the heart-pounding elements.
The humble Colorado garage beginning of the world’s first Internal Frame Backpack in 1967 pays tribute to Lowe’s enduring belief that he could be the one to design a close-fitting and supportive backpack to transport camera and recording equipment that had otherwise never been seen before. Climbers, mountain bikers, skiers and hikers could now comfortably carry their equipment to heights that only they had known, capturing intimate sights for the rest of the world to see.
Lowe’s first defying feat paved the way for the original Soft-sided Protective Camera Bag, also to be the first of its time.
And with that, the Lowepro mark took off. Fast forward to today and Lowepro has seen the creation of the first ever waterproof camera backpack, and continues to innovate each year to keep up with the demands of a fast-paced, ever changing world of technology and photography.
Never miss a shot
Always be prepared to capture the perfect shot with the Fastpack series. Swivel the backpack round to the front for extremely fast-access to the side-entry compartment, making it easy to access equipment and accessories, even whilst the pack is being worn.
Both the Fastpack 250 and 350 have room to fit a camera with lens already attached, whilst the Fastpack 350 benefits from larger dimensions to make room for a Pro DSLR.
The Fastpack boasts three separate storage spaces contained in one lightweight bag. Find room for camera gear, a laptop and accessories and personal items in each of the models.
A camera compartment holds a DSLR with lens attached in the Fastpack 250, with room for 2-3 extra lenses or flash units within its adjustable dividers. A dedicated laptop compartment with protective padding houses a laptop of up to 15”, with space provided for accessories and personal items in the zippered upper compartment of the bag.
The Fastpack 350 has the capacity to hold your Pro DSLR with lens attached and to 2-3 extra lenses in the padded dividers of its camera compartment. Fit a larger laptop of up to 17” in a dedicated padded sleeve, with room for further accessories and personal items located in the upper compartment.
Ideal for professional photographers on the move
Buckle up the Fastpack waist belt and adjust the sternum straps for a multipurpose bag that provides a comfortable fit when you’re on the go. Enjoy rapid retrieval of your DSLR or Pro DSLR (with the Fastpack 350) with the easy zippered, side-entry camera compartment, complete with full 180-degree access and adjustable dividers to keep extra lenses or flash units safe and detectable. A security flap closure provides additional protection to outer compartments when retrieving your DSLR from the pack in wet weather.
A separate organizer pocket located in the upper half of the bag enables fast access to accessories and personal items. Professional photographers will value the dedicated protective cushioned compartment found in the back pad of this camera bag, built to fit a laptop of up to 15” or 17” in size, depending on the chosen Fastpack model.
Extend the carrying space of each bag with the SlipLock attachment loops, designed to increase exterior storage capacity so you can keep additional items to hand. Each bag also includes a mesh side pocket to keep a sports or water bottle readily available.

The main section of the bag is deep enough to allow for a camera with battery grip attached to fit inside (my 5DmkIV fits in with relative ease, so I imagine most other Canon models will). As well as the camera body, you can comfortably get an L 24-70mm and an L 70-200mm in the main section. I think Lowepro say you can get another lens in, maybe a small-ish prime, but you'd struggle to get any wide ended zoom lenses in after the two previously mentioned lenses were packed. That still leaves plenty of slimmer spaces though for card cases, filters, chargers, etc, making it perfect as a day bag, or holidaying.
Annoyingly, you CAN'T have the camera attached to an L 24-70mm and have an L 70-200mm in the main section of the bag, they don't fit. So you have to have the 70-200mm on if you want to keep other zoom lenses in the main section, you can obviously just switch lenses when you start shooting, but see below for other potential solution.
The top section of the bag is big enough to fit most other accessories in. If you're keen to take multiple zoom lenses and can't get them all in the main part of the bag, you can easily fit the 70-200mm in its case inside the top section of the bag and still have a decent amount of space for other bits. There are also plenty of pockets inside this section of the bag too - one netted, the others full material - as well as a little plastic clip tethered to the inside of the bag.
As for the outside of the bag, there is a good sized netted pocket on the side with a draw-string top and a couple of extra external pockets across the bag. Contrary to some of the other reviews though, my model (March 2017) has waist straps too, which is nice when you've got a full bag!
Now for the complaints:
The zips aren't waterproofed AT ALL which I did find pretty disappointing for the price and the given quality of the rest of the bag.
There isn't a built-in waterproof cover, which isn't the end of the world as the medium Trespass rain cover fits the bag, but would have been a nice addition.
And there isn't anywhere is clip or hold a tripod, which again not essential, but would have been handy.
Overall, a few minor gripes but it's a perfect small bag and well worth the money.
This bag is very very, good quality, has plenty of little pockets all over the place, a drink holder on the side, loads of space for your own stuff, is well padded and very comfortable to carry. I just have a Nikon D300 + a telephoto, but there's still room for another couple of lenses. The clever velcro system means you can move the sections around to fit your gear. This is absolutely perfect for the average amateur photographer. The only thing missing which is on higher end bags is a holder for a tripod, but I could fit straps on if I decided I need this. A final good feature (I think) is that this just looks like your average rucksack, it doesn't shout 'camera & expensive gear worth pinching'.
