reading the earlier volumes and can continue the complete range in this series Chas , Liverpool
Received the "last" book in the Bailey Flannigan Series today and read as far the first paragraph break in the second chapter. Here Bailey, after praying for Cody's future partner, directs our thoughts to Andi Ellison who hasn't appeared since the "Above the Line" Series. As soon as I read that, I realised that Cody was not destined for Bailey, as I, and probably many other people had hoped, since first investing our time (and money) in the entire Baxter Family series and all the spin-offs that came out of it. After reading that I skipped to the final few pages and lo and behold Bailey marries Brandon.
I now find myself unable to read the remainder of the book, as this has left me deeply disappointed with the direction Karen Kingsbury has taken with these books and especially with one of the main characters Bailey Flannigan. The last 2-3 books of this series have produced a very different Bailey Flannigan from the one we were originally introduced to - she has become selfish, self-absorbed, perfect, only concerned with her feelings and how people should treat her and no longer the character we all took to heart. With this complete change in character, the whole tone of the series changed and suddenly we have been taken down a road that doesn't seem believable, real or true to the characters that have been so well protrayed up until the last couple of books.
Karen Kingsbury is a great and gifted writer but in the final 2 -3 books in this series, she seems to have lost her direction. She readily admits that the character Bailey Flannigan is based on her daughter Kelsey and with a very little research it is easy to see that she has now changed the character Bailey's future to align with that of Kelsey's.Read more ›
