This isn’t a light read it’s heavy and gritty but it’s well wrote and a good story line as well.
Ben is in a dead marriage when finally his wife says enough is enough. This leads to Ben falling off the wagon and ending up at AA. When he see the person who he has been thinking about for the last coup of days.
Donnie has been a victim of domestic abuse from his older brother and when he is dragged into the station and questioned over a crime he didn’t commit he is just fed up. That is until the kindness of a stranger gives him light at the end of the tunnel.
This story deals with domestic violence and illness not to everyone’s liking but it’s well wrote and not glorified. Definitely well worth a read.
Book 2: A New Life .
Nothing is ever simple with these guys as we learned in the first book.
But when things are finally starting to fall into place with new jobs for them both and a new home. Things end up going pear shaped all over again.
How will they cope with a completed addition to their still new family.
This series go’s from strength to strength it’s not an easy lovey dovey read but if you want something real with some heart break this is definitely for you.
I can wait to see where these guys go next x
Book 3: A Broken Promise.
While I really enjoyed this series this was my least favorite but I still enjoyed it.
Donnie hasn’t had it easy at all and things just go from bad to worse when things finally seem like they are getting back on track he is hit with more bad news regarding his health issues.
I just found Ben buried his head in the sand and let things get too far out of hand it takes him almost loosing everything for him to realise what he has. With easy temptations thrown in his way he just gives in too easily.
I would not recommend reading this unless you have read the first two as you really need to read about these guys from the very beginning to understand their complex relationship.
