This book is poorly written, If someone had told me a 14 yr old girl had tried to write a book with a bit of suspense then it wouldn't have been a bad short story. After reading this for a few chapters, i like everyone else hoped it would improve. After 10 chapters i started skipping whole chapters at a time and it was so poor that I didn't miss any of the plot. I will avoid all books by the author in future because I would hate to waste even a tiny part of my life reading such childish drivel ever again.

You are in suspense all the way through. . . Waiting for something to happen!

I read all the way to the end because the ocd side of me demanded it but I felt the writing was poor. It was reading an extended version of one of those real life stories in chat magazine.

There is lots of superfluous description of mundane things but no in depth analysis of the character's thought or emotions. I felt disconnected from them all and had no empathy or sympathy at all for Lily because she came across as shallow. Had there been more detailed writing about her as a person, I might have liked her more.

If the writer of this book is under fifteen years of age then it's not bad for a level 2 piece of writing but, anything above that, then they need to revisit their writing class.

Thankfully this was a free kindle book because if I had spent any money on it I would have been bitterly disappointed.

I think the most disappointing book I have ever read. The supposed suspense was minimal and to make things worse it didn't even finish!! Don't bother would be my recommendation.

I read this book in one night. I just could not put it down! Although at first I was slightly put off by the very brief description of details such as what he and she looked like, the dates they went on and even the charm that she had seen in him seeing as though she fell in love with him just two months after meeting him. That was all pushed aside as the story continued. I am usually great at predicting the outcome of a story after reading the 1st few chapters (I like to think I'm quite the detective ;) ) but I honestly could not even in the slightest predict any of this!! Great story! I felt the nerves right the way through the book and found myself wishing and praying Justin was the one that would save her... still hoping this is the case! Cannot wait to read
part 2. Read read read guys. I promise u will love!

I've read the entire 'Lily's story' trilogy by Christine Kersey, & can honestly say I am not that impressed. As an avid reader & experienced book critic, I found the entire series to be too drawn-out & bulked out with small, insignificant details, with few exciting or imaginative parts.

Without spoilers for those who may not have read it, the main charachter, Lily, comes across as a rather dull, boring, petty & selfish person, with an all-too innocent, narrow-minded & unadventurous personality. Yes, the story is based on her relationship with abusive Trevor, then later her escape from him, having & raising his baby alone, then later her getting over his death & moving on. However, the portrayal of the relationship & the abuse is all-together unrealistic & lacks the capability to grab the readers attention. Having been a victim of two extremely abusive relationships, I found this to be too unrealistic & not a true portrayal of what it is like, even people who have not experienced abuse have this opinion (my friend & my mum, who have both read this series said the same!)

As I said before, Lily's character came across as rather boring, shallow & selfish. I quickly found myself becoming bored with her constant dithering, inability to make decisions & the way she expects everyone to fit in with her narrow-minded & needy expectations. There is too much mundane detail on the simple, every-day tasks she performs, & all-in-all the whole trilogy seemed to be based on her dithering about, which makes the reader frustrated & find it rather difficult to empathise with the story.

The third book in the trilogy, Love At Last, seemed mainly to be based on details of her baby, Natalie... constant repetition on the things Natalie does or what Lily does for her.

I thought this was a great read and am looking forward to reading book 2. It is about a young girl whose father dies and leaves her some money from his insurance payout and she uses it to pay for her college education. She meets a young chap who turns her life upside down in more ways than one and also steals her money. You have to read the book to find out what goes on in their lives and the lies he tells her. Would and have already recommended this book

I did feel for poor old Lilly but maybe because of my own experience I could see what was coming. I was a little disappointed that there was no actual violence, I would have expected something more than him gripping her tightly. Not that I'm encouraging that but I did think that she was incredibly naive marrying someone so quickly and who did show signs of not being very mature. Either way I'm intrigued to find out if she escapes him! Time for book two!
