A curious mixed bag of influences. Black metal, some doom and death metal with dark intros dominate the first half of the cd, while the second half gets darker but the overall sound is equally extreme, dirty, aggressive and fast-paced, except for a couple of more sedate, hypnotic dark tracks. This is a total kick in the groin and has no resemblance to traditional metal at all. It's Christian Death's singer Maitri (Rozz Williams wife ) who is in charge of the vox (it's her solo project) that is shrieky but a tad buried in the mix for my taste. Drums are insanely, really very unusually mixed and guitar and bass are the filthiest, more distorted you've ever heard in this style of music. Production is somewhat raw, lacking upper treble but featuring a quite beefy if a little muddled bottom end.
This sounded totally experimental to me and was a very nice addition to my punk and metal collection.
