A love all consuming, a love so intense that you don't know yourself, where you are going, what you should be doing - you question yourself the whole time. Stevie J Cole has in my opinion written a love story old and true - unrequited love and she has captured it magnificently. I thought this was extremely well written, beautiful, heartrending and painful sometimes, and I simply could not put it down !!!
This is the love story of Nicholas and Peyton who met and fell in love in high school. One mistake ended their relationship - a very painful ending for them both. Peyton marries Issac- a basketball player but does he really love her and can Peyton truly love him as she did her first true love -Nicholas.
Four years later that love is put to the test when Peyton's Mother passes away and Nicolas comes back to pay his respects. Does all those feeling they once had re- appear, can Peyton who is a married woman resist Nicholas and all the feelings she once had for him. Will it make her re think her life as it is now ?
The story is written from both of the characters perspectives which I really like as we get to experience both of their feelings at the time. Also it flits back to the past when they were together and you see just what sort of intense love they shared - and also the despair and the pain when that same love ended. I adored Nicholas - I cannot lie, and who wouldn't want a man to be so utterly consumed by you and love you so much that he would die for you. Yes Nicholas was a beautiful person inside and out. Peyton was another conundrum for me. What she did, she did out of love BUT it isn't what I would have done so I found her character lacking in backbone and I was frustrated by her at times.

I have to admit that I’m a fan of everything that Stevie J Cole writes with LP Lovell, and this is my first dalliance with her as a solo author. I loved this book, and every time I hear that Stevie has a solo release from now on I will definitely be buying it!

I know that this is a book that from the start is going to get some people unsure of some elements in the story (i.e. the cheating) but you shouldn’t let that detract from what is a poignant tale of first loves, missed opportunities, and second chances.

The characters of Peyton and Nicolas are rich and well developed, and their stories both together and independently make them people that you can quickly grow to find a connection with. I was quickly pulled into their story, one that I know that everyone can identify with, lost loves that get away with your heart that you never get over, second chances at love.

I highly recommend this book! 5 very well deserved stars.

OMG what a read had me hooked I even moaned at the daughter for interrupting me that's how much I liked it didn't want to put it down. I'm going to call this a once in a lifetime read because it was beautiful a tragic but not a tragic love story you feel everything coming from the page's and it made me ugly cry this book will definitely stay in my head and heart for a while and I will certainly be re reading this book again. To some this book won't be everyone's choice but take a chance you won't be disappointed I certainly wasn't. Thank you Stevie.

The emotions in this novel are so heartfelt that it will stay with you for days after finishing.
This is Nic and Peyton's journey of love, forgiveness and life. I actually didn't find it tragic at all (disagreeing with the title and characters sentiment). Nic and Peyton found love and each other, if is the people who never find that whose life is tragic.
The writing and plot flow and weave quickly. Hard to put down. Glad there was a HEA.

Despite the moral dilemma this was a thoroughly enjoyable story and because of the circumstances I was rooting for Nicolas and Peyton all along, things got pretty tense in the last two chapters of the book that my heart was in my mouth but that is all I am going to say cause I don't want to spoil it for readers. this is something I would definitely recommend.

Firstly, I don't know weather I want to run up to stevie j Cole and give her a big kiss and cuddle, or if I want to run up to her and stab her in the head with a fork... This book is beautifully written and gives a realistic spin on romance books, I love the fact that's it's also a second chance book, because most romance are usually insta-love!
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone that asks, because I'm a sadistic bitch and want to watch everybody else ugly cry at this book! So worth it!
I loved it though, well done and thank you 😘

I’m going to start by talking about the things I did like about this story. I liked that it was a good old fashioned love story. I liked the that it’s a second chance love story. I don’t read a lot of those so it was refreshing to read because it’s either a first time forever romance or it ended horribly.

I did like the story development and the character development. They way she developed the story was good. The way she used love and hate letters to help you feel the emotions from the main characters was great. I've never read anything like that before.

I also like the way she had characters doubted themselves. Wondering what kind of people they are, why they're going against everything they believe in. Is this love, is this really a tragic story that ended when it should have began? I liked that about this book. It makes it more relatable, I think.

There's not much I can say about this book that excited me. It was okay for me. I guess I was expecting some, wow factor. I mean it's Stevie J Cole. I knew going into this book it wasn't going to be anything like her other books but I did expect wow! I didn't get that and that makes me sad.

I would read more books by Stevie J Cole. I'm not going to say I won't because that's just stupid. I like her, I like her books it's just this one didn't do a lot for me.
