I kept expecting the snowstorm to materialise, but it only did at the epilogue, it wasn't the plot device that I had been expecting.
Apart from this it was a really good novel, well written, professionally edited and with strong, sympathetic characters.
Jake was scrumptious and Danni was likeable.
There were no excessive daft complications to irritate me, no extraneous angst and the romantic chemistry between Jake and Danni was red hot.

I highly recommend this series. I really got involved with these characters and their families. Jake is a sexy builder/part time soldier who has been in love with his best friends sister for a very long time but he feels he is too old for her and sure his friend would kick his behind if he found out! What he doesn't know is that Dani feels the same way.

***I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review ***

Love in a Snow Storm is the second book in the Pine Harbour series, by Zoe York. Jake Foster has been in love with Dani Minelli for a very long time since she was a high school senior. However, as much as he longs for Dani, he won’t act on them as in his mind, she is off limits, for the simple fact that she is his best friend's younger sister.

Never fall in love with your best friend’s little sister…”

Dani Minelli has been in love with Jake Foster for a very long time, a high school crush that has long since turned into something more. Now older and wiser Dani wants to show Jake that she not off limits anymore. Jake and Dani soon discover that being just friends is not enough, they can’t hide their feelings anymore.

“Dani had never met anyone who could light her on fire the way Jake had”

I loved this story, love alpha men who fight for the one they loved, it make have taken a while but Jake was this man!! Dani was his forever, his whole world and he was hers. Jake and Dani are such a great together, so connected, so loving, and so understanding. It's a long time coming and I love that they both are slightly nervous as if they can’t believe that after all this time it is really happening

“We’ve got a thing between us. Not sex. Something unavoidable and deeper than that”

Overall Love in a Snow Storm is the fantastic sweet love story. It’s low on the drama, but has plenty of romance, humor, and oh boy let me tell you it was high on the sexy factor!!! Zoe knows how to write good steam!! Great secondary characters, especially that one called Derna!!! Loved her, she may have only had a few lines, but I can so see her in future books!!

This is the second book in the Pine Harbour series which I love but I have to say Jake and Dani just pushed the love factor even more for me.

Jake has held a deep attraction for Dani ever since she was a seventeen year old high school senior. As he was twenty five at the time he did not act on those feelings especially as she was the little sister of his best friend Rafe. Her brothers are highly protective of her and for Jake to come out and claim her would cause all kinds of problems, so he has kept his love for her secret.

Dani however has always known his secret attraction to her and something nearly happened when she was seventeen when he drove her home from a party. It’s now seven years since and Dani is now a grown woman who has had relationships which Jake has seen come and go and is partly the reason he signed up for a tour of Afghanistan with the army reserves. Dani is now done with all the waiting for the right time and after the tragedy that happens to their friend Lynn, the unspoken is breached but Jake still feels it is not the right time and continues to drag his feet. How would it look to their friends and family to go into a relationship when Lynn’s husband has lost her so tragically? Dani feels he is again putting circumstances and other people first instead of putting her as priority. She is done but she also gets a little help from his sister-in-law Olivia, to put plans into place to push the gorgeous man to take what he has always wanted and Dani is definitely wanting the same thing.

At first Jake did frustrate me and I was wondering why he didn’t man up but then once you get to know him and how this gorgeous man always puts others first instead of his own happiness just makes your heart melt.

I adored Jake and Dani's story. They have been in love with each for so long but never acted on it or told each other how they felt. Held back by a number of factors, not least her brothers' reaction, they have been denying themselves for too long. Their feelings for each other are sweet to watch. The events of book one played a massive part in them finally accepting their feelings and making their decision to move forward together.

I loved that we got to see their relationship develop and find their way as a couple with relatively little outside influence. It was love in its purest form and so beautiful to read.

With Dani and Jake we have characters with a maturity beyond their years. They both have seen so much for ones so young due to their public service dedication. Neither are perfect and neither get it right all the time. Down to earth and so likeable, Dani and Jake find a place in your heart.
