A wonderful Christmas tale for young and old!! A book you can pick up again and again, whenever you need a lift of spirits.

And, to continue the introduction into this tale of love and renewal,

Nous serons bien.
Un nid de baisers fous repose dans chaque coin moelleux.
We are so happy. In each corner lies a basket full of kisses.
Arthur Rimbaud, "Reve pour Hiver" - Wintertraum.

The Arthur Rimbaud of yesterday could not have put it any better than the Roxann Hill of today who has taken this timeless poem and turned it into true action: a lovely winter dream with the capacity of turning ever so wishful snow flurries into the reality of you and me:
Our unlikely and stuck-up heroine, Michelle, comes to learn that her life (to include her fashionable name) had been nothing but a farce, nothing but a fake castle of broken dreams, but then when she does get the chance to redeem herself, she grabs the bull by the horns, faces her Angst and Weltschmerz and turns herself inside out - only to discover that true love does exist. The metamorphosis of the lame Michelle to the lovable Michaela could only be achieved by David, the handsome man who knows that deep inside of her is that very potential which could make him love her with all his heart. Throw into the mix - an adorable little girl, a dog, and a winter wonderland as the background scenario, and you found yourself in a fairytale that is so young, swift and ageless but at the same time also funny and utterly engaging that you wonder if dreams do come true. Well done, again, Roxann Hill!! I can't wait to see what else you have up your sleeve...

Oh, and yes, if you do look for that special gift this Christmas, or should you be looking for that special treat for yourself, this is definitely the book to choose. I am certain you will be in for a pleasant surprise.

Happy trails, or better yet - Bon voyage!

Detective Pat Castilo, El Paso, Texas - USA

Thank you to Netgalley and Amazon Publishing for a free e-review copy of this book. This is my honest review.

Michelle was looking forward to a holiday with the married man she has been having an affair with, when she gets a call, from the man saying that they need to break things off, for one of the oldest clichéd reasons in the "book".

So Michelle, who is used to the high life after being a mistress, storms out of her hotel room and starts her journey back to Berlin. At reception while checking out, there is a mix up with her handbag, leaving her temporarily stranded as she loses cash, cards, passport etc...

She after a while meets David and his young daughter Emma, and they very kindly offer her a lift, in an old rickety looking "classic" car. They are willing to driver her back to Berlin.

What follows is a road trip story from Switzerland, to France and then Germany as the travelling companions get to know each other better.

To me this is as much a romance book as a nice little festive book, as its December, and there are a lot of lovely Christmassy references.

It is a sweet story, not ground breaking in anyway, but a nice quick read that will while a way a couple of train journeys.

I really liked this book, espacially because it was proper to be read from an non-native speaker.
The leading character happend to be kind of undislikeable to me. But somehow it doesn't influenced the story at all! Maybe that's because I liked the other important characters and the story was wonderful to read.
Also the spelling style of Roxann Hill fascinated me, so I can doubtlessly recommend this book!

3.0 out of 5 stars Mindless happily ever after escapism based on every Hallmark channel movie plot ever made 19 Dec. 2014
By Dogs & Horses 🐎🐕🐈 - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
If you take every Lifetime and Hallmark channel Christmas tv movie plot, then you have Love Is Pink. Obnoxious, self absorbed, whiney, single girl...Check. Gorgeous, hunky, loveable guy with heart of gold and secret fortune....Check. Precocious, tow-headed, irresistible 5-year girl....Check. Big dog in need of rescue....Check. Throw in a bit of suspended disbelief for ridiculous circumstance and an overabundance of arrogance from leading lady, way more patience than any real man would have from our hero and so much sweet cuteness that I wondered if the kid was secretly being tranquilized and maybe that would be a sub-plot. The dialogue was stilted at times, but I chalked it up to being a translation issue and didn't let it bother me. Overall, this was a mindless, happily-ever-after story to kill a few hours in various waiting rooms at doctor visits. A cute little book that served it's purpose, but not one I am likely to remember much about a month from now.
2.0 out of 5 stars Imagine a heroine that is worthless and spoiled . . . 16 Jun. 2017

Ok, Michelle is the kind of character that you stand up and cheer when she runs into constant problems. Selfish, elitist, class oriented and just an all round valueless person, she is hard to get to like. Even though through her travels she gains a bit of growth, it just wasn't enough for me. She lost me when she screamed like a banshee at the truck driver who would have saved her in a snow storm because are you ready? He was hauling pigs! And oh my, the nerve, the idea that little miss princess might have to breath stinky air for a few hours to get to an airport, I mean how dare he? When he kicked her ass out in the snowstorm with her designer luggage to walk it, I cheered for him. I also hoped the lady who got her Prada bag by mistake took every dime, shredded her passport and sold it on eBay. Imagine Paris Hilton with the attitude of pit bull. That's our little Michelle. I got this book free and still hated it. Skip this one. Save your money.
4.0 out of 5 stars Quick & Easy Read 28 April 2017

After the first few chapters, I was nearly ready to give up. The main character, was unlikeable. She had no redeeming qualities at all. But, the story is just like one of those sappy holiday movies on the Hallmark Channel where she goes through a quick transformation. And by the end of the story she has become a decent person. All this happens in the course of a few days. The book is fast paced and even though I didn't care for the lead, I was engaged and quickly devoured it. It's not realistic, but it was entertaining.

3.0 out of 5 stars Christmas sprit is not all that its made out to be..... 29 Dec. 2014
By Sarah - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
OH where to begin, this book is Kardashians meet the Robertsons. It was ok, the book is based in France and Germany and is about a girl who thinks she's got her all together, when she has a chance meeting with a man and his little girl in a beater car on there way back home. I have to say this would not be my favorite book to read, it did have some christmas spirit in it, I loved Emma she had just so much personality she was a spit fire and a cute one at that. I felt like the book went back in forth with Michelle, one minute she is being nice and the next she being a B..... it seem to be a total turn off for me.
4.0 out of 5 stars A Fun Beach Read 18 Mar. 2015
By OutlawPoet - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
This is one of those books that ends up being so much more fun than you think it will!

Now, I don't want to fool you. This is very basic chick lit. There's nothing groundbreaking or life changing here. The characters will do exactly what you think they'll do. It will end exactly the way you expect. But you'll read it with a smile on your face.

The thing is that it's incredibly hard to make a book into a sweet feel good book when your main character is a snobby mistress. But somehow, Hill does it. While completely prepared to hate Michelle, I found myself first laughing at her - and then hoping for her!

Pure fun.
