My Thoughts:

4.5 Hearts <3 <3 <3 <3 < (Stars)!!

I was gifted a copy of The Love Game as part of the Playing for Keeps Blog Tour which is the 2nd book in this series.

I have literally just finished this book after only starting it last night.... I loved it. It is set in the University of California and Maddie Stevens is an extremely likeable character who has been through so much in the last 3 years, she hated Braden on first sight reminding her so much of her brother Pearce and enter Maddie's friends with a challenge "Play the Player" or as they put it "Hump and Dump", lol..... Maddie accepts that challenge and trust me when I say that the banter between these friends on occasions is hilarious!! Now Braden who in Maddie's eyes is a player and represents everything that she hates in a guy but who is extremely and I mean extremely HOT accepts a challenge of his own from the fellow frat boys "Make her fall in love" with him and so here the story starts and I'm not going to tell you anymore as I don't put spoilers in my review but what I will say is: READ THE LOVE GAME!!!! You will not regret it.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can't wait to get started on the new and 2nd book in this series ~ Playing for Keeps which is Aston and Megan's story (Maddie and Braden's friends) I reckon it'll be an amazing read.

So what are you waiting for?? Go and read it!

Heck this book was really enjoyable. I kinda found myself thinking 'Grease' at one point and not because it's a spin off but because it has that same 'innocence' romance going on, it's excellent cast and the great modern story.

The sex scenes are not steamy and erotic, they are tastefully done, leaving a lot to your imagination which in this case totally worked, I think I would have been a bit disappointed if they were 'down and dirty' but they weren't. The way they were written they did actually carry their own level of hotness so you weren't left feeling deprived that they weren't explicit. So if your looking for explicit then this won't work on the level you want or maybe expecting.

I would highly recommend this, it's fun, it's sensitive, it's very well written, it plays in your head beautifully. I've visited the frat house, Starbucks, girls dorm, their parties, Vegas, it's all very visual.

Emma Hart really does know how to write a great New Adult romance novel. Relatable characters, a sweet romance, the occasional steamier scene, a dash of humour and a sprinkling of drama.

The story revolves around this challenge "The Love Game" that the two main characters have separately been set. Maddie and her friends are trying to change Braden's womanising ways by showing him how it feels to be "humped and dumped" whilst Braden just wants in Maddie's pants and he knows the only way is through her heart. You can probably guess what might happen next.

Maddie and Braden are such a perfect couple but at the same time it is only a challenge. Or is it? The Love Game is told from a dual POV so we get to see each characters side to the story. We get to see them both fall head over heels in love, struggle with their feelings and realise they made quite a big mistake agreeing to the game.

I love a book where we get to see the guys POV as it is so uncommon in books yet i think we all want to hear the guys thoughts as he falls in love. The author does an incredible job of getting into the head of a 19 year old guy, or at least i (a girl) think she does :P Braden seemed very real to me. He still has that slightly immature outlook on life you expect from a guy his age but he is starting to grow up and become more mature.

The Love Game is a great book that i would recommend to all romance fans especially those that love NA. You get to watch the characters grow up and stop being teenagers that don't realise the consequences of their actions. This book is a perfect example of what makes something New Adult.

*I recieved this book from the author in exchange for a honest review, this has not affected my thoughts on the book in any way*

As always I have something to blame for making me buy yet another book – this time it’s twitter. I saw blogger/bad (lovely) influence Louise (@jaustenrulesok) tweeting about the new cover for this book and the second in its series, and I knew I had to check it out. Within about half an hour of downloading it I was reading it!

The Love Game is the story of Maddie and Braden (the name alone certifiably promises a hot book boyfriend) and how they both set out to make the other fall in love with them. What starts out as a game with both players intent on their objectives, changes as lines get blurred between reality and the game plan.

The story is dual POV so you get to follow both characters stories which I really love in a book. Maddie has had a bit of a tough time and is the complete opposite of Braden where their backgrounds are concerned. She has all these preconceptions of Braden and is determined to play him at his own game and to continue hating him for all that he represents. She has built up these almost impenetrable walls around her to try and protect her from anymore heartbreak and it actually shows how strong a character she is as she stands up to Braden and gives him as good as she gets.

Braden is hot. He has a reputation for being hot and just acts like a bit of a slut in general. Attracted already? Add that to the act that he knows he’s a babe – bet you’re attracted now! The game with Maddie changes him throughout the book and evokes all sorts of new emotions in him and really allows is character to develop.

The story is quite typical from the romance genre and is as such quite a predictable storyline but because it’s dual POV you get to see both of them fight for the ending they both want.
