When the crocketts dissapeared in a puff of rockabilly pipe smoke, i feared what would happen to davey crocket, would his lyrical wit be lost forever but for those who happened upon him stacking shelves in a certain london superstore? Thankfully, no and he returns along with crox tub-thumper Owen Hopkin in 'the crimea'. The title track draws on the more folky but sinister tendencies of davey's repertoire, but with the song recieving major station airplay, this appears to be no bad thing. The other two tracks follow suit, and whilst i would prefer at least one rockier offering on a 3track cd, with 3 tracks of this quality, i really cant complain.

Fantastic! 'Lottery winners on acid' has to be one of the best songs released in 2002. The second track, 'Tragedy Rocks', is also excellent. Still thinking twice about buying it? Why?! Get it ordered, it's great.

A top song from a top band. Catchy verses that builds into an uplifting chorus. (If you're not singing along with the chorus by the end then i don't know why). This though is a pattern becoming more and more associated with this band. If you see them live its almost impossible not to become completely obsessed with their unique sound, lyrics and a stage performance and presence that has earned them the right to big band, big gig support slots. Soon and not soon enough this mob WILL be the big band, at the big gig, this single proves it...just hope their support are as good as they are. Do yourself a favour and get hold of this tune
