Product description

Review

`Stuffed full of clever recipes I wish I'd written, and am desperate to try, this gorgeous, colourful book is as fun, and as lively as the very talented Rosie herself. I am very jealous.' -- Felicity Cloake * The Guardian * `Rosie Birkett is one of this country's most respected food writers and her enthusiasm and dedication to broaden her and her reader's horizons to the greater food spectrum is unquestionable. Full of passion, her fun and endearing personality is always reflected in the food and places that she writes about' -- Tom Kerridge `In a culinary world full of froths, foams and smears, this is a book for those that love real food. It's a breath of fresh air and a feast for the eyes, full of mouthmouth-watering recipes to excite the palate and take you to a gastronomic heaven.' -- Michel Roux Jr `A beautiful and original book - contemporary, evocatively written and full of creative recipes you'll want to cook. Rosie is an exciting new voice in food.' -- Gizzi Erskine * Gizzi Erskine *

About the Author

Observer 'Rising Star' Rosie Birkett is a renowned food writer, food stylist and cook based in Hackney, East London. She has been writing about food for newspapers, magazines and websites for years, penning features and recipes, and cooking beautiful food for the camera for the likes of The Guardian, The Independent, Jamie Magazine, Olive, Waitrose Kitchen, Sainsbury's Magazine and Grazia.

Rosie Birkett is a young food writer I admire. She has bags of energy and good ideas. A Lot On Her Plate is packed full of accessible ideas from quick suppers for one to feasts for friends (she's a fixture on the London scene and knows everybody), and more than that, both the design and tone of the book are friendly. As you'd expect from someone who interviews chefs and restaurateurs all the time, she references them openly and shares their tips. Lovely. Lisa Markwell, editor of the Independent on Sunday

During her time as a food writer Rosie has travelled the world to report on different cuisines, spending extended stints in Vietnam, Mexico, North America and Europe - all of which informs her vibrant, approachable, globally-inflected recipes. Rosie has appeared on Sunday Brunch and Masterchef series 9 and has her own blog and youtube channel A Lot On Her Plate where she shares her inventive cooking ideas. She has amassed a foodie following of over 30k online through her Twitter and Instagram accounts and contributed to various cookbooks including Phaidon's Where Chefs Eat; and authored Alain Ducasse's foodie guide to London, J'aime London.
