Product description

"Brilliant!" --Sport magazine

"I can think of no one who would love this book more than Harry Redknapp. If Jamie's listening today, if you're looking for a little stocking-filler for the old man, it's just unashamed nostalgia. Give this to your dad on Christmas Day and you're going to lose him 'til dinner time, then again afterwards." --Paul Hawksbee, talkSPORT

"The book is superb - an actual step up, if possible, on Got, Not Got. Got it, love it... lost about five hours at the weekend!" --In Bed With Maradona

"The follow up to the wonderful Got, Not Got is another football lover's delight. Deft and lovingly ironic writing, hundreds of pictures of a half forgotten world, and enough toys, stickers and football tat to keep very big boys entertained for hours plus a timely reminder that Ian Rush was the inspiration for 'Beaker' from The Muppet Show. Essential." --Esquire Weekly

"There's a whole series of books called Got, Not Got: brilliant books looking back at old football memorabilia." --James Brown, talkSPORT

"The authors have put so much into this book - it's a mixture of remarkable photographs, toys, stickers, club icons, and not forgetting the writing - it's beautiful!" --Andy Jacobs, talkSPORT

"How do you follow up the best book ever written about football memories, memorabilia and childhood? With the best book ever written about bringing back that Golden Age." --footballcardsuk.com

"What's the option? A power tool? Another box of Turkish Delight? Nah! Really make your Dad happy by getting him a ticket to The Lost World Of Football. It's a huge book that takes you on a grand guided tour - there's a load of laffs and plenty of thought provoking memories. It's great." --Adrian Goldberg, BBC Radio WM

"Lovers of the world of football before the tears of Gazza, Sky Sports and the all-singing, all-dancing Premier League will welcome with open arms the incredible and stupendous Lost World of Football." --Fly Me To The Moon fanzine

"This book is superb." --Steve Anglesey, The Mirror

"Another must-have stocking-filler for football fans of a certain vintage." --Sabotage Times

"The Lost World of Football is a must-have for fans, a sought-after stocking filler." --Mirror.co uk

"The original Got, Not Got was a masterpiece, so the pressure was really on to come up with the goods yet again. Would there possibly be enough to fill another book? The answer is of course, yes. Not just a small yes, but a rather large one, as this time out, as well as coming up with another look at The Lost World Of Football, there's also a bunch of club-specific volumes and a further gem in the guise of What a Shot: Your Snaps of the Lost World of Football. A truly beautiful thing, a phrase which neatly sums up the Lost World of Football." --The Football Attic

"More than 200 pages of nostalgia for the period between 1966 and the year that football was ruined forever (that'd be 1992). It's the football book equivalent of The Godfather II or Toy Story 2 - the same, but arguably even better than the original Got, Not Got. On every page, there was something to remember or something I'd never heard of but wish I'd owned back in the day. On every page a gasp or a titter. Lavishly illustrated, brilliantly written, The Lost World of Football is a thoroughly engrossing read from cover to shining cover." --Hopping Around Hampshire blog

"The Lost World Of Football is a worthy sequel to its predecessor. Splendid memories aplenty." --God, Charlton and Punk Rock

"These two authors fully deserve to be recognised as the leading writers and historians of British football nostalgia for the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s and early 1990s." --RetroUnited.com

"A hugely evocative pictorial memorial to the innocence of a game before it became a business. Each page filled with the iconic paraphernalia of a homespun fandom that shaped a generation's adolescence but allowed us the space to make our own dreams." --The Morning Star

"Wonder at the unreconstructed non-PC days when Manchester City bikinis were on sale in the Maine Road club shop, when a top-selling football annual promoted Park Drive cigarettes, and when Coventry City invited their more photogenic female fans to be 'our girl of the match' in the programme. Just as Got, Not Got invited the reader on an irresistible meander down Memory Lane, The Lost World Of Football is no easier to put down." --Backpass

"Should you yearn for the days of petrol station freebies and naff endorsements (Trevor Broking patio doors, anyone?), you'll love this celebration of clutter and culture. Packed with evocative pictures, younger readers can rejoice in the fact that they've never received Kevin Keegan slippers in their stocking. Great fun." --FourFourTwo
