This Lost Gorillas was a book that came to me as a recommendation via Amazon. I downloaded it and actually had it on my Kindle for a while before getting around to read it. I have to say I'm very glad I did. The Lost Gorillas works on many levels and will appeal to a wide age range of people both young (teen agers) and old, I'm in the old category. Mr Hoggett has created a world of adventure, mystery and intrigue. This is not just a story of six teen agers having adventures together. There are many levels to this book. A great deal of attention is given to the characters and back stories which embellish the overall story well. As you read into the book it becomes apparent that there are sinister undertones which are being fronted by large global corporation which adds to the depth of the story. Once I started reading this book I could not put it down and read it cover to cover. The Lost Gorillas is a standalone book whilst also laying the foundations for a much wider story. After reading The Lost Gorillas, I immediately read Knife of the Sun (book 2) and The Last Train to Nowhere. All great reads and real page turners

Read this book after it was recommended by a friend and really enjoyed it. As the book went on I got more and more into as the lives of the Characters started to entwine together. Would recommend this book to anyone to read, just as exciting for adults as it would be for young children.
Very good book and I look forward to the second book in the series.

I ordered this book as I heard my close friends father had written it, thinking if it was bad I'd just not mention it again! I have to say I really enjoyed the book it was very well written, a good story that kept me wanting to find out more, can imagine it would make a really good family adventure film.
The characters are really believable and the description of the countries it visits really brings the book to life.
Looking forward to Peter's next book.

Not heard of the author writing before. Whilst the detail was a bit too much for me it held the attention and brought in the history well. Liked the way the children were fed into the story line and the background was well researched. Enjoyed it.
