Beautifully illustrated (Riveting Reads SLA)
It would be no exaggeration to hold up this book as an outstanding example of the art of the picture book in which the combined qualities of text, illustration, typography and book design are brought together in an almost perfect combination. Morris' watercolours alone should earn it a place in any school library. (School Librarian)
Best animal picture book of the season ... holds the reader in suspense until the very last page. (Economist)
Both the writing and the illustrations in this book are magnificent complementing eachother and giving a vivid picture of life in the jungle, while representing changes of mood and pace. (5-7 Educator)
From the Author
I wrote this story to celebrate tigers in words, knowing that Jackie would celebrate them in her artwork. Perhaps, at least they will live on in books..... --This text refers to the Hardcover edition.See all Product description

The story (obviously) isn't very complicated, but is very relevant to today's issues with the tiger (an animal on the brink of extinction). Although this is only mentioned as a small paragraph at the back of the book, it reminds us all of the majestic triumph that is the tiger's form and the place tiger's have earned and should keep in the food chain of the jungle.
Perfect for kids, perfect for artisitic adults and all others for that matter - in fact this is one of the biggest reasons I had for purchasing the book. I love tigers and art, I use the book now as a reference in drawing the tiger. My young sister also has use of it, the message has great import - that one should have pride in themselves, just as the tiger comes to have.
To anyone who visits this page, use your effective demand to get this book - it will not dissapoint!
