Lovely A4 size, detailed descriptions of each chapter and themes, key quotes examined with emphasis on getting a better grade (A/A*). Example essays show you what you should be aiming for. All in all, well worth the money.

My Son is reading this as part of his GCSE course this year and whilst he felt comfortable with his understanding of the story, Characters and sub plots. He did say that this gave him a 'bit extra'. and to my suprise he also did all the 'mock' exam questions. His target was a B-A they now believe that an A-A* is within him.

My daughter watched the original Lord of the Flies film and used this as a workbook. Great book and very valuable for GCSE course, with very handy tips.

Got this book for daughters final year to follow the actual book ready for exams - school would loan book for a fee but you couldnt write in it - not must point for revision purposes. This is the exact same book with about a 40% saving on school "borrow" fee - and its hers to make all the notes. Excellent - again nice job Amazon

Don't know what I would have done without this for my exam! Really clear and the different sections (eg. Themes) are really easy to understand.

Making the best of a bad situation. My son had to read this for GCSE. After struggling to find the motivation to do so I thought I'd help him out by getting him the audio book. The quality of the recording and reading is excellent but by golly the story is dull! I gave up before my son - why do we make young people read such drivel? How will this nurture a love of reading? Avoid at all costs if you can at all do so! This book has helped with summary and key points. It has the basics of what you need to know and is accessible to all. If you need to revise then this will do the job. Probably not to top grade standard but it will get you through.
