If you liked the previous book in this series. I know I did. This is better.

You feel more for Acer Sansom as these stories develop. This piece of fiction highlights, how far the evil of people in power will go to protect themselves.

What an intro the first book in this series called Dirty Business was. Most of the action took place in Turkey as the South African gun runner called Botha got what he deserved.

Botha was the killer of the wife and young daughter of Acer Sansom. At the time Sansom was a Lieutenant in the Grenadier Guards. He was on leave from the Army enjoying a family holiday on board a vessel which was a victim of modern day piracy. The other passengers and crew were murdered.

At the time. Acer Sansom, was on a deserted island and could do nothing to prevent the killings and could only watch as the ship sailed away.

Leaving him to a life similar to that of Robinson Crusoe. There would be no man or girl Friday to share the burden.

Eventually, luck and fate allowed him to get a ride back to the UK. Where he was given an opportunity to go gain revenge. Soon Acer is on a flight to Istanbul using a pseudonym.

So what does he do now? Will Acer Samson carry on his relationship with the Turkish delight that is Eda ? Will he meet up again with Detective Inspector Tallis? Both of them had good parts in the first book.

The objective, has got to be to hunt down that corrupt MP called Alex Bishop. Then that other man who is known only as Smith.

Sansom manages to arrange his return home from Turkey via the official channels to the UK. The idea is to clear his name with the authorities. Then have the idyllic life with Eda.

However, on his arrival home. There is a dramatic change to the planned schedule.

I enjoyed this book just as the first on in the Acer Sansom series, Dirty Business. I couldn't put it down although I was sorry some of the characters we had come to know had to die, but new ones are introduced for us to get to know. Hope to read the rest in the series.

Since I bought the first Romney & Marsh, I have bought the next book in the series immediately. Then moved on to the Acer Samson series. Oliver Tidy's writing has grown with every book he has written. Always fast paced; always hard to put down. Great humour, great sadness. Well thought through plots. Engaging characters. Anyone who enjoys Lee Child, Peter James or Paul Finch will be as captivated as I am.

Oliver,

I've left you several reviews and spoken to you via twitter and your blog. Your the kind of author that cares about his readership. This book was fantastic. I really enjoyed it! The last time I was so gripped was with the millennium trilogy. For me as a reader, your work has captivated me. I'm eagerly looking forward to future releases for all three book lines!

Good work! Highly recommended read for those reading this
