A primary school Under Milk Wood!
This is a fantastic book of funny poems having an irreverant look at just about every aspect of school - the head, the secretary, the dinner-lady, teachers, pupils, events in the school calendar (nativity play, sports day), school inspectors, parents' evenings and that strange smell in the corner of the infant cloakroom!See all Product description

The poems are mostly humorous, with some good rhymes and naughtiness that children will enjoy. Particularly good were the witty `Teachers' Awards' by Brian Moses and the sadder `Playtime' by Roger Hurn, which will resonate with anyone who's been left alone in the playground.
There is a bit of an old-fashioned feel to some of the poems and even though the collection was published in 2005, I'd question how much children will identify with some of it. Even so, it's a good way of getting children interested in poetry and verse and so worth a look.
