Product description

Synopsis

Written in association with the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, "Look Out on the Road" is an introduction to road safety for young children. It features many aspects of road safety including signs and signals, different types of roads and different street environments as well as the safest way to approach traffic. The narrative throughout is in simple, straightforward language, which is undramatic and reassuring whilst stressing the dangers that seemingly familiar situations can hold for children. A mixture of running narrative and speech bubbles has been specially developed in association with the National Centre for Language and Literacy (Reading Reading Centre) to draw in both confident and less able readers. Specially commissioned photographs are combined with child-centred artwork to support the text and re-iterate the safety message.
