This is a well-designed and presented guide, with useful maps. This is not a glossy guide with lots of colour pictures, but it is a well-designed and laid out guide, with colour used primarily in the introductory section. It is intended to be a meaningful guide to things to see and do, and not just a list of things to see and do.
It is broken down into four major sections:
Page 4 - Plan Your Trip:
This section is an introduction to Malaysia, Singapore and Sarawak, with features on what to look out for (Top 20 experiences), what you need to know in advance, and all the important touristy stuff.
Page 49 - On the Road (“The Guide”):
P050: Kuala Lumpur
P105: Selangor & Negeri Sembilan
P123: Perak (with 6 sub-sections)
P156: Penang (George Town & Greater Penang)
P190: Langkawi, Kedah & Perlis
P250: Pahang & Tioman Island
P281: East Coast Islands, Kelantan & Terengganu
P314: Sabah - (5 sub-sections)
P393: Sarawak (4)
P468: Brunei (3 sub-sections, plus its own “Survival Guide”)
P488: Singapore (with its own “Survival Guide”)
Page 562 - Understand
This section contains articles on local cultures, peoples, history, religion, environment, etc.
Page 598 - Survival Guide:
This includes details on transport, health, the A-Z Directory, etc.
This one is great background reading, appears to be very up-to-date and has made me extremely excited for my trip to Malaysia, where I will likely pass it on to another traveller.
