I am really enjoying re-watching these Series of London's Burning. It is classic drama. Production is fantastic, with incredible, exciting fire action scenes. There is attention to detail that you don't see in a lot of today's drama series. Great characters, amongst my favourite are Bayleaf who is stalwart of the watch, Sicknote and his long-suffering wife Jean, Hallam and Sandra who's bickering has me in stitches, and joining Bluewatch in this series is 'Poison' Pearce who is set to drive everyone to distraction. If you enjoyed watching this in the 80's and 90's, then you will love watching it again. Enjoy the fashions and music and embrace the era.

This, the sixth series, is the first to feature both Pearce (Michael Garner) and Billy (John Alford. With Billy, the "chirpy Cockney chuckle factor" goes right up.

Billy manages George in an unlicensed boxing match. Just to see George pounding the streets of South East(?) London with Billy following in his converted hearse is a reason to buy this! Also, Kevin (Ross Boatman) wins a greyhound at cards!

The characterisations are IMHO surer than in earlier series, so that what happens to Colin at the end of the series and the revelation (should I say apocalypse? it means the same thing) of who Station Officer Georgiadis's new love interest is (in episode 4) are powerful drama. Watch it to see what I mean.

And the fires are terrific - including a huge scaffolding collapse and a petrol station fire - not to mention a fire engine crashing in the first episode, the effects of which are felt throughout the series...

A classic. No extras but good quality. And in 2009 no problem with delivery!
