I would have liked to have heard more about the behind the scenes activities at the clubs, the organisation, problems with violence and drugs etc. and if protection was paid to gangsters. Also I found that the font used in the majority of the book was indistinct making the text very hard to read.
As well as an index and acknowledgements the book also contains two Marquee Club databases - one listing every band that played there between April 1962 and December 1979 and the other a day-by-day listing of bands playing at the club for the same period.
Probably quite essential reading for 50 - 60 year old men!!
