I don't normally write reviews (just don't have the time) but I found Amazon previous buyer reviews helpful in this purchase so thought I would return the favour and hopefully assist someone else out there. I bought this after much self deliberation, purely with respect to the cost and the would I get value for money question. I watched promo videos on a certain self posted video site (not sure I can mention the name here!!) and read various reviews from previous buyers including the ones on Amazon. So, I thought I would try it and paid out to Amazon.....particularly as the return option was always there with them. Well, I definitely shan't be returning it !! Build quality is excellent and the appearance of it is superb. It looks like the real thing (if slightly smaller) and is infinitely better than those that come with the GH games. I recently had GH Warriors of Rock and this leaves behind the Gene Simmonds replica that comes with that package. It is far weightier than a usual GH guitar due to the build quality so may not be suitable for younger wannabes (I'm 41 and I have to admit to being a Metallica wannabe !!) and also the finger buttons are ever so slightly further apart than the usual controllers. Great for fat fingers like mine, not so I should imagine for younger players. I found that for me, the realism of the instrument adds to the realism of the game !!!

I play it on a slim version of the PS3 and it was quite simply plug in the dongle and live the dream!! No connection/compatability issues there at all.
In conclusion....a considered purchase yes, cheap and nasty DEFINITELY not. Definitely worth the money if you wanna slip into the zone and just for a short time become Hetfield, Hammet, Lennon or Jim Root !!!
