Logitech G930 Wireless Gaming Headset
It’s easy to be passionate about winning, but at Logitech, our passion is in the science that makes winning possible. We build precise gaming instruments. We advance technology so gamers can reach new levels of speed, precision, reliability and comfort. Science is our philosophy, our methodology for studying, testing, and advancing gamers’ experience -- in the lab and in the game.
Features
Level Up without Being Tied Down -- in 7.1 Surround Sound
No wires to tie you down. Surround sound so detailed, you can hear your opponents before they see you. With a lag-free wireless connection and powered by Dolby Headphone 7.1 surround sound, G930 keeps your head in the game for up to 10 hours between charges.
Immersive 7.1 Surround Sound
Hear them before they see you with up to 7 discrete channels of audio data plus Low Frequency Effects (LFE). Dolby technology perceptually positions each channel in the correct location to reproduce multi-channel content the way developers intended.
Lag-Free Gaming-Grade Wireless
Just plug the USB adapter into your computer for a powerful, reliable 2.4 GHz connection. There are no audio delays -- proprietary Logitech technology is up to 38% faster than Bluetooth. The Logitech G930 Wireless Gaming Headset automatically hops between frequencies to keep the signal clear and strong.
10-Hour Battery Plus Recharging Base
Plenty of battery power to get you through even the most epic gaming sessions2. The Logitech G930 Wireless Gaming Headset includes a base, which recharges the headset and powers the wireless adapter with a single USB connection -- even while you're playing.
Three Programmable G-keys
Gain one-touch control over in-game elements like chat clients, music, voice morphing and more. The keys are conveniently located on the left earpiece for quick access and you can customise each control, thanks to the easy-to-use Logitech Gaming Software.
Folding, Noise-cancelling Mic
The folding, noise-cancelling microphone reduces distracting background noise and can be stowed and muted in an upright position. The Logitech G930 Wireless Gaming Headset also features an on-ear mute button, which mutes the mic and activates red mute light for visual assurance that your mic is off.

The G930 headset works with your PlayStation 4 in stereo mode. Experience chat, voice interface and gaming audio in rich, detailed sound.

If you have a wireless router in your house or any other device that needs to transmit over a 2.4ghz range then you won't be able to get these to work. 7.1 surround often has issues where it will only play from two speakers and approx 50% of games and media players seem to be "incompatible" and produce appalling sound quality with crackling, overloaded low tones and tinny sounding high tones. On those rare occasions the software isn't crashing your operating system, all speakers are working AND you've found a game Logitech approves of, it will sound nice for at least 20 minutes or so before cutting out.
The problems are near universal with good reviews, with some acceptions tending to be from owners who deny problems to justify their £100+ purchase. I was recommended by a fellow G930 owner after my Corsair H2100 USB dongle broke. After I started having issues I questioned them further and found that they had the exact same issues and just thought that was a normal thing he had to live with when using wireless headphones.
I won't ever go near a Logitech headphones again. You might be one of the tiny minority who don't encounter issues but £100+ is an inexcusable asking price for such a gamble
However, the software that is currently offered by Logitech is garbage. Some of the features don't engage when the headset is turned on and it frequently drops connection to the receiever. The only way I managed to fix the connection issues was to rollback to a software version from 2011 where they apparently got the system right! Even with this issue, the sidetone problem where it defaults back to a very low level is not fixed in this level and I've sacrificed one of my G buttons to toggling the sidetone up/down to then fix the issue which I have to do each time I turn the headset on.
With the above in mind, the headset itself is amazing and I would probably still recommend it to anyone with a bit of technical know-how to work around the crappy software
I found after prolonged use the headband would eventually start to hurt my head, my ears would become uncomfortable.
The interior of the ear cups and the cups themselves seem and feel extremely cheap, especially for this price range.
The wireless aspect itself was great and out of all the wireless audio equipment I have, I found these were probably the most reliable.
Over time the battery quality degraded as expected. After less than a month, I found I would only get around an hour of wireless usage before having to charge it in again.
In order to work the headset while it was charging, I found I had to devise a ritual of turning the headset on and off, which was valuably time wasted.
The software was okay, had a few glitches here and there (the phone companion app was good too, especially when the mite function wouldn't work on the physical buttons). Just to let you know however, they have removed the option for voice changer from the latest software however.
The microphone quality was shocking after ruling out all other possibilities. It would crack and other complained it would peak a lot, even when the input volume was at quite low decibels on windows settings.
While it did work on UNIX based systems, the comparability really wasn't there, however some open source developers did help ease the pain a little through third party software.
Overall I would certainly not recomend this to anyone, especially at high prices. Lets hope their newer range impresses.
