Experience PLAYSTATION3 and PlayStation2 racing games the way they were meant to be played. The Driving Force EX features USB connectivity for precise racing control and realistic Force Feedback, and a standard controller port connector so you can race in PlayStation2 titles that don't support force feedback wheels. Logitech's unique gas-assist injection moulding technology creates a one-piece rim with no seams or screws, letting you white-knuckle the rubber handgrips without squeaks, rattles or flex. So grab hold of the comfortable rubber grips, work the responsive accelerator and brake pedals, and slam through the gears with two wheel-mounted shifters on the most complete racing wheel available.See all Product description

The device also comes with a "lap attachment" (which is fixed to the wheel using the desk clamps) that sits between your legs meaning you don't need to find a solid surface to mount the wheel to. While improving the stability during gameplay I still found the wheel moved around a bit during some of my more uncontrolled moments; this may of course be down to the lack of muscle power in my thighs!
I bought this steering wheel to use with my PS3, with mixed success on the handful of games I own. As with most devices, compatibility seems to improve with the "newness" of the game.
MotorStorm - doesn't work.
F1 Championship Edition - works, but with no force feedback.
Colin McRae DiRT - works perfectly, including force feedback.
Overall I'm very happy with this wheel; another excellent product from Logitech.
If you want to double the fun of your driving games this is a must, buy it!
(P.s If your buying for GT5 Prologue dont panic if it doesnt work when the game loads up. You have to plug the wheel in AFTER the first loading screen appears)
All things taken into account i am very glad i bought this wheel and not an unnecessarily expensive wheel that is not from what i can gather any better. Perfect for any PS3 racer.
Even though the wheel is sold as a PS2 wheel, its cable has a USB on it to plug straight into the PS3. The cables are all long enough at around 2m.
The build quality is great, as expected from Logitech. The force feedback strength is good - not weak as some have said.
The gear shift 'buttons' on the back of the wheel are suitably placed.
The only slight criticism I would have is that the wheel is a little 'ratchety' to turn, but it does not really detract from driving. Around 180 degree lock to lock seems limiting but for racing games it's no problem.
Even as a starter wheel, this brings driving games to life! If you like driving games buy it, you won't regret it.
i found the Driving Force EX Steering Wheel very good with the feedback you have with the cars. First game i played with the steering wheel was driver parallel lines; i found using the pedals hard because they were to sensetive. so i used the x ad square easier to use, along with the steering wheel.
second game is played was gran turismo 4, which was brilliant because of the feed back it gives you when you turn conners or bang in to walls!
i give this a big thumbs up and 10 stars!! form viper
Using it to select options (between games) can be a bit hit and miss due to the sensitivity but you can get around this by using a normal controller.
Good build quality, reliable performance and reasonably inexpensive.
