Clear, powerful sound
40 watts (RMS) gives you plenty of power to fill the room with big, detailed sound. Dual-drivers in each satellite speaker deliver crisp, clear high end and warm mid-range. Enjoy richer, fuller sound thanks to Logitech’s Frequency Directed Dual Drivers (FDD2) technology—tuned to produce uniform sound around the room without hot or dead spots.
Distortion-free subwoofer
Down-firing design delivers deep, rich bass you can feel. Tuned port prevents the distortion that can occur with closed subwoofers.

The build quality is of a high standard, the satellite speakers are surprisingly weighty, made of quality moulded plastic, with secure metal stands and conical rubber feet to prevent sound travel and vibration.
The bass tube is as others have said is quite light in comparison with a downward facing speaker at the bottom of the tube. I chose this system as I wanted control over the bass as I did not want to be unintentionally disturbing the neighbours.
The system comes with a black desktop puck to control the volume and the bass. The puck itself is again a nice weight and won't get pulled off the desk by its own cable. It really does sit very securely under its own weight. The main dial is very smooth and only requires finger tip touch to turn. The bass is controlled by a little wheel control at the back where the cable comes out. the positioning of this can be a bit awkward at first, but I got used to it pretty quick. the whole system can be turned off from the puck by turning the volume down until it clicks. the puck also has a red power indicator to let you know if its on or not.
Now I bought these as PC/Console speakers for use in an office. I didn't buy them to replace my HiFi or to watch movies on my main TV. I do use them to listen to music all day, watch the odd video and for console games. For all of those thing it is very good and plenty loud enough. Jacking the base up for call of duty so you can feel the explosions. Yeah its good.
I also like the fact that it has 3 audio inputs so I don't have to unplug cables or use an additional audio switch etc. I should mention that the inputs all blend if played at once as there is no way to select the input you want to use. This may not suit some purposes.
I don't think it's loud enough to play party music so it wouldn't replace a HiFi.
For those of you with kids. There are no covers on the satellite speakers so the shiny cones are exposed and very attractive to little fingers!
"If you appreciate clear detail in music and well balance sound, these speakers are for you."

Pros:
+Great looking design
+Sturdy build quality (albeit plastic)
+Crisp and clear highs right out of the box
+Control pod with bass control
Cons:
-Bass might not be enough for "bass heads"
-Volume can be disappointing when driven from smartphone
----------------------
Sound:
First off let me say, these speakers ARE LOUD ENOUGH. There have been many reviews I read that mention these speakers are too soft, that they do not have enough bass etc.. This is not true.
These speakers are very much loud enough if you drive them with an adequate source (i.e. not your smartphone)
Connected to my laptop via an external sound card, these speakers are more than enough to fill the living room, and in fact I have to turn down the bass (to about 80%) on the control pod to get a balanced sound. What I like about them is how they sound so well balanced right out of the box, so much so that I had the confidence to turn the equalizer off!
If you appreciate clear detail in music and well balance sound, these speakers are for you.
Build quality:
Build quality is satisfactory, the matte plastic body does a good job of conveying a stylish, modern look. Having said that, it did start to rattle a little bit (barely noticeable) when I pushed these speakers to their limit and maxed out the volume with some hip hop. At normal listening volumes all the way up to 90% however, you won't notice this.
The red cables are not the best looking thing in the world, I was hoping they would be made of "soft touch" rubbery material, but instead it came in a somewhat shiny bright red/orange. They take a while to get used to but don't detract from the overall look and style of the speakers.
Other points:
The control pod is well designed and performs just fine, it's handy to have the bass control on it. In short, these speakers justify their price and produce rich and well balance sound. It's not quite audiophile grade, but pretty damn close if you know what you're doing with them.
