Picture / video quality is just OK, not as good as that on my 2012 mobile phone. Merely adequate. The autofocus doesn't work that well, so I stick it on a fixed focal length. I'd have expected a device whose whole purpose is to be a camera to be better quality than the camera on a phone. Still, you might not want people on the other end of a Skype call seeing every misplaced eyelash, so maybe it's by design.
Unfortunately the "8 megapixel" and "2 MP" picture modes and "2 MP" video mode are lies and a scam. The best resolution this camera can do is 1280*720. The higher resolutions are simply upscaled from the lower resolution, and are marked "*" or "optimized" - but "pessimized" would be more accurate, since it's larger file size for no better quality.
These USB2 webcams are limited by the bandwidth of USB 2.0, which is 35 MB/s. That is only just fast enough for 480p at 30 fps in theory - and less in practice. So you will only get low resolution, or low frame rates. To do better, you have to get something with USB3 and / or hardware encoding, which compresses the video before sending over USB, as the C920 does. The only negative thing is that, the included application with the funny schemas are not working in skype or at least not always.
But who cares we needed a camera :D
I used this at work and it's as good that I bought one for home. Very good for the price.
Autofocus never lets me down, very responsive, good quality image and sound.
You can also download free software to use the zoom in features and is brilliant for broadcast and good in low light.

Works perfectly fine. The quality is nice comparing to the price of the camera. Far from real HD, but not bad.
