This is a very smart device powered by two alkaline AA cells (supplied) and it connects to your computer wirelessly using a Logitech Unifying (USB) Receiver which is included. If you are like me and already have another Logitech wireless keyboard and/or mouse the Touchpad can share the existing Logitech Unifying Receiver, and, therefore, you only tie up one USB port. The software that controls your mouse and keyboard will also control this nice looking and well made touchpad - the upper surface being finished in matt black and the underside in a glossy white. It measures about 5 inches square, and, in reality, replicates the touchpad and buttons you'd find on most laptops but it is enhanced to respond to gestures.
Connection and set up is a breeze, and you can adjust all the usual parameters - acceleration, scrolling and the function of the buttons etc. In use I find it to be intuitive, and, arguably more so than a traditional mouse if you are used to using a laptop - it replicates a laptop touchpad so closely. The additional level of control being the Touchpad's ablility to respond to gestures - for example, you can scroll using two fingers and swipe with three fingers etc. It quickly becomes natural and, the control, is in my opinion, excellent. In the short time I've had this device it has quickly grown on me.
In summary, well made, easy to install and above all intuitive to use especially for laptop users. Recommended.
Backdrop: is that this doesn't have a gesture for right mouse click. So you still have to rely on the button click option for this. It would have been much better if they made a gesture for this instead of those like page left and right scroll which we hardly use ever.
On whole rather nice.
ordered some tablet screen protection sheets to cut and attach to see if that makes it any better.

Also better traction than its newer model
It is no way sophisticated enough for the way I use my PC but works well as far as it goes.Published 18 months ago by Wild58
It is compact. Gets a bit of getting used to compared to the original mouse. Very Sensitive to touchPublished 19 months ago by Sinead McCrystal
Excellent piece of equipment. I use it instead of a mouse and it has almost completely resolved my wrist pains. I now have two, one for home and one for work. Read morePublished on 25 Aug. 2014 by Gerald
