Equipment: MaxData 3000 (P5LD2-VM) desktop, Zoostorm Freedom 10-270 netbook, Dell Inspiron 1150 laptop.
Operating Systems: PCLinuxOS Gnome 2.6.33.7, Vista, Windows7.
Linux found the WiFi stick within seconds, internet up and running after I when entered SSID and password.
Vista and Windows7, with RJ45 wired connection internet in place, allowed OS to find drivers via the internet.
Overall, pleased with the speed of the supply from Amazon (Super Saver - 3 working days). The quality of the product was fine apart from the thickness of the case which made it difficult to use the nearby usb socket, hence 4 stars.

I double booted my daughter PC with Linux Ubuntu 10.10 and Windows XP SP3.

WiFi connectivity was initially achieved with an old WiFi USB device. Initially and for several months everything worked on both OSs but after a while it stopped working with Linux. Possibly a SW updated from either Linux or most likely Windows may have changed its FW. Whatever it was, I tried several ways to upload some suitable drivers for Linux but none ever worked satisfactorily.

This new Dongle worked fine straight away in Linux and following the few easy steps from the instruction on the manual it was very easy to install it in windows as well.
It now works faultlessly in both OSs.

In Linux it seems to employ some form of bit rate control which works extremely well, whilst in Windows it is better to leave it running at the maximum 54 Mb/s speed.

If left idle the speed drops to 1 Mb/s in Linux, but as soon as a real need arises the dongle seems to operate at precisely the required speed automatically. I have never experience any issue or delay etc... Infact the whole experience is better in Linux where it is possible to view HD programs from the BBC iPlayer with the WiFi unit working at 11 or 18 Mb/s. Occasionally the video was not quite as smooth as compared to my iMac but considering the difference in HW I was very impressed.

Most importantly the viewing experience is fully enjoyable. This cannot be said with Windows despite the nominal WiFi speed of 54 Mb/s. Its performance is much more random with intolerable picture freezes at time etc...

The machine is very old, it sports a decent graphics card and has 2 MB of RAM (which is pretty unused in Linux).

I suspect that the real issue here is simply the Windows OS and its background processes that randomly take away resources when needed. Windows is a pretty poor OS for multitasking and real time use and generally vastly inferior to Linux OS in my view.

Having tried unsuccessfully on numerous occasions to kick-start the wireless card in my Acer laptop and stimulate the Ubuntu networking protocols I had given up and returned to the ethernet cable, don't get me wrong, it worked a treat but my router on my desktop is two rooms away so in the end I purchased one long enough to use as a washing line. It was ok for a few days but my family soon grew tired of it and it was only by accident I came across the Logic Pro wireless dongle for Linux and let me tell you this, in my opinion its the best thing since sliced bread. It came out of the box, fitted into the usb two dock and took about three seconds to connect to my network. I would definately reccomend this item for anyone having trouble with their built in wireless drivers whilst using Ubuntu; its great!

Its g standard but works really well so far,after a couple of weeks still ok.(a little warm though)writing this for anyone new to linux like me,purely because i trawled around and tested 2 others before finding this and struggling to get a refund(i got them in the end,but remember just because your os dont like it, doesnt mean its faulty,I DID NOT BUY THE OTHERS FROM AMAZON)5 stars because its proving reliable and fairly compatible.delivered fast and in good nick.

After much frustration trying to get the internal wireless card working in my asus eeepc 701 sd, I found this product, and based on the glowing reviews, I thought I would try it.
It works straight away on ubuntu 11.04 and has given me my wireless capability back. So if you have an asus like mine, know it works. It's a good price too.
One word of warning, after using it for a while, if you have to unplug it like I do to put your netbook away, the adaptor gets HOT, be careful where you hold it.
