Wow, the books in this series just get better and better! The sexual parts are hot and are becoming more erotica which I'm not necessarily a fan of, but the storylines have got better with each book. This book tells the story between Logan and Wynter.

Wynter was born a human and she is Logan's mate. Logan doesn't want a mate, let alone a human one but fate has a habit of doing what it wants regardless of what you would like. Logan and Wynter first meet when Logan witnesses her being chased along the streets of New Orleans by 2 vampires. His interest is piqued further because he immediately recognises her as being the woman he has seen in his visions. When he and his beta Dimitri eventually catch up with them, they interrupt the vampires in the middle of their attack and kill them. Because of her fear of the Supernatural, Wynter flees at the first opportunity and seeks shelter in a gated garden hidden away from Logan. From the start, Wynter and Logan are at odds primarily because Logan believes her to be a wolf and Wynter insists she is human.

The suspense in this story revolves around Wynter who has escaped her abductors. She is a virologist trying to find a cure for a mysterious illness that her friend has fallen victim to and has been held captive for around 2 months, forced to work in labs looking for a cure. She has been unable to contact her guardian and she is constantly moved around by her captors in order to avoid detection. Wynter knows she has been infected with something but doesn’t know what, which leaves her wondering what she is or what she might become. She takes shelter with Logan and their antagonistic romance begins. What is clear is that she is fighting 2 enemies; The Mistress and her lapdog The Directeur who she knows want her dead.

this is the fourth book, in the Immortals Of New Orleans, and i felt it much more a stand alone than the other three, also the star rating dipped back to 3.5 stars.

for a long time, i couldnt see where the plot was going, and that is why ive dipped the star rating. Logan finds Wynter on the run, in the dead of night, wearing only a lab coat and underwear. she has been tortured, by vampires, and he needs to know why. But the vampires have also done something to her, she was human, now...she isnt. discovering what happened to her will mean she has to trust this Alpha, with her very life.

still cant quite put my finger on whats missing (for ME ) from these books, but i did like Leopald and will almost definately read his book, eventually!

Great book, action from the start. The chase of the Doctor, the mystery of her origins and what she was to the romance between her and Logan and the hierarchy of wolves and mates and the rest of the pack. Lots of twists and turns and the surprise of the 'mistress' identity was a shock, but the delusion of the power struggles were very graphic and realistic. Looking forward to the next book

This book is perfect to read as a standalone, but can be enjoyed with much more depth as book four in the Immortals of New Orleans series.
This book was definitely my favourite of the series so far. The romance was incredible, heart-felt and beautiful and the storyline was complex and different from anything else I have read before. The detail Kym Grosso delivers from the New Orleans surroundings always takes my breath away.

The characters were, as always, amazing. With every book you meet new people and they become a part of this wonderful family. They always bring fresh life into the series and it also makes sure that you never get bored of seeing the same people all the time. I love getting to know everyone and seeing how their personalities work together.
Logan is also my favourite hero of the series so far.
The beginning of the book showed us just how hard Logan has been working to keep the Arcadian pack, like Marcel wanted. He's been facing challenge after challenge to keep his position as Alpha. I loved Kym showing us that it wasn't easy for him, that he's put his blood, sweat and tears into this. How he deserves everyone's respect!
He's been having visions of a woman being killed right before his eyes, he doesn't know who she is, but he knows he feels her death deep down in his heart. He can feel that the loss will destroy him, even if he doesn't know why.
I liked that Kym also showed us right from the very start, how caring, loving and supportive Logan can be. He loves his wolves and would do anything for them. He's a formidable leader and an even better man. He can be so soft and gentle, but when the situation calls for it he is powerful and unwavering in his loyalty and will do whatever it takes to protect those he loves.

Great easy read for fans of this genre, and a bit of romance and sex an added extra. The series is worth reading, though after reading them one after the other it did become a little repetitive. Good read though.
