Vol. 2 moves the story along nicely. Shorter than vol. 1 but a more fulfilling chapter. Spends time expanding on the evil moving around the lockes. Be aware though this story is a little trippy when you read it you will know what I mean.

Artwork is outstanding, a good artist enhances a story. The writer understands that team work is what makes a great graphic novel stand out from the crowd and this is obviously a great team effort.

Buy it, read it and enjoy it.

Since reading Welcome to Lovecraft, I haven't been able to stop thinking about this world. The artwork is amazing, and the storyline is dark, creepy, and totally captivating. I had to order Head Games as soon as pay day arrived, because I simply couldn't wait any longer. The wait for it was awful, but I finally got my hands on it and I loved it! Locke & Key is a fantastic series, and I am so happy that the second graphic novel lived up - even surpassed! - my expectations.

Dodge has become one of my favourite characters. In Head Games, we get a bit more insight into his background. We see what his connection is with the Locke family, and with Ellie, but at the same time Dodge remains very mysterious. I'm very intrigued by him, and he is my favourite character of the Locke & Key series because a) he is creepy and vile and a good villain, and b) he is so damn interesting. I love a good backstory for a villain, and often they are underdeveloped in favour of the heroes of the story. But Dodge's story is great so far, and I can't wait to see more of him.

Due to the focus on Dodge and Ellie, Head Games spends a little less time on the Locke family than Welcome to Lovecraft did. Kinsey was the most heavily featured family member in this instalment, and I really enjoyed that. You get to see how she is handling - or, rather, not handling - the tragedy that caused her to move to Lovecraft in the first place, and you also see her start to form ties with other characters. I like that she is not immune to the crap that happened to her, and the stuff that is still going on in her life. I also loved the storyline of how she was trying to change herself. At this point in time she feels weak and vulnerable, and it willing to take somewhat drastic measures to change that.

The second volume of this series definitely picks up the pace here, with characters and storylines already established well in the first, this volume can get right into the swing of things straight off the bat...however, don't let that fool you into thinking Locke and Key doesn't have any more mysteries to trade you with, or the ability to have you feeling delightfully out of the loop at times only to surprise you with little curveballs every now and then...the only criticism I can make here is that sadly it doesn't seem to be as long as the first volume but the quality and content is there in spades, getting volume three right away.

Stunning would be a great way to describe Locke and Key. The artwork and storytelling are exceptional. When you start one of these graphic novels it will be almost impossible to not read it in one go.

I was totally hooked after part 1 and hoped it wouldn't lose pace and I wasn't disappointed. We obviously were left hanging at the end of 1 when the echo in the well house escaped and became a friend of the Locke kids. The story picks up right where we left off and is just as gripping as the first one.

We find out a little more about the keys and a little background but Hill doesn't give away too much. I'm not sure how long this story will run for but I know I will be reading it till the end.

I should be getting part 3 back from my friend soon and I have 4 and 5 on order too. So far one of the best series of graphic novels I have read.

I bought the first Locke and Key as something to read on the ferry and ended up hurrying to find a WiFi connection the get the next Vol. It's a wonderfully twisted story and the art work is cracking. I'm about to get number three. Get it, love it!

As a child, I used to read lots of comics. Now in my 30s, I'm rediscovering them, and Locke & Key is amazing! I love Stephen King, and Locke & Key is partly made by his son. I have recently bought the last one, but I haven't read it yet, as I'm afraid I won't be able to put it down until I finish it, and it'll be gone too quickly!

I was recommended this series after asking about any graphic novels to do with Lovecraft.
These were not what i was expecting! But I am very thankful it's what I chose!
The story progresses at a great pace, the characters are well written and the illustrations are incredible!
To anyone who's at a loss on what to get next, give it a try!
Once you start from #1 you won't be able to stop!

I came across the first book by chance and after getting through it and loving every page I got this. The characters develop more, the art is still fantastic and the story just makes you want to keep reading. Brilliant
