Product Description

Entire series of the television spin-off from Guy Ritchie's Brit hit gangster flick. In 'Lock, Stock and 200 Smoking Kalisnikovs', the gang lose out when they invest in the 'Limehouse Lag' scam, while gangster Miami Vice takes on a consignment of rifles. 'Lock, Stock and a Fist Full of Jack and Jills' sees the lads in trouble with hard man Larry Harmless after selling dodgy viagra pills round the manor. In 'Lock, Stock and Spaghetti Sauce', Spaghetti Eddie is treading on rival porn king Miami Vice's turf in order to fill the cast of his TV channel 'Sauce TV'. Meanwhile, the lads are forced to make a risqué film of their own after getting into debt with local porn merchant 'Deep Throat'. In 'Lock, Stock and Two Sips', the lads play reluctant hosts to a crazed hit-man, who has taken it upon himself to bump off Miami's entourage. In 'Lock, Stock and One Big Bullock', the lads find themselves involved with crazed gangsters and the Russian Mafia after going into the meat industry. 'Lock, Stock and a Good Slopping Out' sees them banged up when Miami Vice charges them with retrieving a valuable key from prison inmate 'Toothless'.

The tales from Guy Ritchies take on Londons mean streets continue in this tv adaptation of the hugely popular movies Lock, Stock & 2 Smoking Barrels and Snatch. Stealing horses, robbing russians, ripping of a psychotic arab called the caliph, annexing tv stations, selling dodgy viagra and generally making a nuisance of themselves the boys from the Lock go from entrepeneurs to prisoners and back again through the series narowly avoiding being either killed, buggered or brutalised in a variety of different ways.
A very entertaining series of far fetched tales that can withstand repeat viewings. Excellent.

Despite a different cast, and the obvious constraints of TV series-making, this manages to be one of the most succesful transitions from big to small screen. If you never caught this on the box first time around (like me), don't think because this was produced for British television that it is soft - the language is every bit as harsh as the movie, the violence still graphic and the plot twists are every bit as fun. The supporting cast, as noted before, is uniformly excellent - especially (my favourite) Christopher Adamson as Three Feet, a hard man's hard man. Though I feel the 'rentacockneybarraboy' theme was starting to wear a bit thin by the end of the series, it manages to quit while its ahead before you find yourself asking searching questions (like, are those 4 guys joined at the hip, or what? Who the hell runs their pub while they're all out doing dodgy deals, and where do they get all their money from as the place hardly seems to be open?) Anyway, 7 hours of non-stop class...it's a deal, it's a steal....you know the rest ;)

Now this is one hell of a dvd, the complete 7 episodes of the 'lock, stock..tv series' spread over 6 1/2 hours and 2 discs. Which in case you've never seen it is the adventures of four likely lads (moon, jamie, lee and bacon) who own a pub called 'the lock'as they come into dealings with a whole host londons criminal underworld, and usually fall fowl of them. The first episode is a feature length movie co written by guy richie, the other 6 which average about 50 mins each are all like mini-movies and are equally as good. The acting on this dvd is superb especially Ralph Brown in his portrayal of the meancing Gangster 'Miami Vice'. With each episode brings some new characters. It also features a 12 minute behind the scenes film with tania strecker and the video to the theme tune by ocean colour scene. This is a fantastic purchase u wont regret.

I remember watching it when it was first on and loved it. Re - watching it again and it's dated and the acting is difficult to watch in parts. Funny to see some familiar faces from the world of UK TV and film thou.

I remember watching the series avidly, straight after seeing the movie if memory serves, and even took a VCR recording off the telly. I got the DVD recently to revisit it after many years and maybe it's because none of the original actors are in this series but I found it boring and poorly acted. Worth a look, more in memory of Lock Stock, but nothing more.

Bought for a fiver or so last January so a real bargain.

I thoroughly enjoyed this. Some of the plot blines are a tad contrived but in essence if you like the films of Guy Ritchie and missed the series when it aired - you'll enjoy this DVD.

The complete 2000 C4 series inspired by the hit film. Four cockney chancers seem out of their depth amidst murderous villains. Somehow, entertainingly, they always survive to see another day (though, alas, not a second season).

Top of the local food chain is Miami Vice (Ralph Brown suitably chilling). All "our heroes" make impact, of them Scott Maslen now the best known - he destined to enhance "The Bill", "EastEnders" and the dance floor. Also making their presence felt are Nick Brimble, Hywel Bennett, Martin Freeman, Bradley Walsh and a host of other familiar faces as characters best avoided.

Seven episodes, the first feature length, all involving frenetic mayhem and inventive carnage. Challenging viewing for those not knowing what to expect, but a treat for those with strong stomachs who like their comedy very dark.

The reason i bought this DVD was that i liked the original movie very much. The TV serie is not as great as the movie, but still very good. The only thing i wasnt so happy with, that there arent any subtitles.
