This particular item is fantastic for cereals as it really is airtight. I have used other containers in the past that have inferior clips on the lid that do not shut properly - this one clicks shut in a firm manner, so no soggy cereals. In addition, the pouring hole in the lid is of an adequate size to allow the contents to be poured easily without clogging. I also use one to store pasta shapes and another for cat biscuits - both items pour easily through the lid and stay fresh for ages.
Quality is first class as usual
Too bad Amazon only have a small subset of the available Lock'n'Lock containers but you can order most of them from Joutlet (korea) and FoodStorageMall (china) at reasonable shipping costs.
A moulded thinner section along one side acts as a handle and I find it best to have the spout at the opposite side for most effective use.
When breakfast cereals are sold by weight rather than volume, it is difficult to judge whether or not a specific product will or will not fully fit when transferred. The contents of some commercial products in their smaller sizes will fit quite nicely into the dispenser. Others, and especially the larger sizes, will not; about 450-500g is the maximum for most cereals. The heavier, more compacted products are more likely to be contained than the lighter and bulkier ones, such as corn flakes, Rice Krispies, Shreddies and similar and a lesser weight is the probable maximum. Where there remains a portion of an opened pack that will not fit, I use a larger L&L container for the excess. As some cereals are sugar- or honey-coated, I prefer not to leave them in their packets for too long as these products can attract weevils and other pests, but they will not get into the box if the cover flap is properly closed.Read more ›

Very solid, but design a bit flawed, cereal tends to go everywhere when you pour itPublished 8 months ago by AJW
Excellent. Use this for dog food so I can easily dispense it into the bowl on the scales to get the correct amount. Read morePublished 14 months ago by John Meanwood
