This introduction to the Kabbalah is well written and very colourful. The use of colour I found very helpful when studying the diagrams. I found this a helpful book.. Being A4 size everything is well spaced out and very clear on the eye.
The production values are high and Kabbalah is a subject which really needs that as it uses imagery, colour and patterns a great deal to connect us with our higher selves in a more conscious, balanced and informed way. I like the organisation into themes which you can explore when you need them as they come to the fore in life. Based upon the Toledano School of Kabbalah which is modern and practical, ideal for those of us with English rather than Hebrew as a first language, this is accessible and illuminating. Here is practical mysticism for doing as well as thinking. It is slimmer than her Total Kabbalah and you might want that title next, if you like this one. Thoroughly recommended.
This is a great book! Maggy Whitehouse offers a user-friendly, yet thought-provoking introduction to Toledano tradition Kabbalah. Clearly written and comprehensive in content, it never becomes "new age-y" or dogmatic; this is an approach to spirituality that has real substance, but never gets bogged down in pseudo-intellectual technicality, or, for that matter, woolly-minded naval gazing! Each chapter is systematically laid out, the style is readable without being patronising, and, even if you find the soft-focus pictures a bit annoying (as I did), the diagrams and illustration are really helpful in understanding what's being covered in each topic. I've tried various primers on Kabbalah, but this one beats the field.
