what a wonderful overview of sikh history. many british born, relativelyyoung sikhs may agree with me that we know odd stories and general historybut this book puts it all into context. it is written in plain english, something that many sikh historians fail to do. the descriptions of allthe gurus is detailed without being overly dramatic and the end of eachchapter has a summary of the values and morals which all sikhs believe inand try to live by. it does not preach but i was able to take so much fromthis book that it has left me with a greater understanding of who i am andwhere i come from, a certain peace. top notch!
