From the Publisher
By comparing the wartime image to the
modern viewpoint this book gives the reader
a link to the city's experiences that mere
statistics can never convey. The book covers
not just famous landmarks like the Liver
Buildings but also ordinary houses, churches
and pubs. It will inspire anyone, whether local
or not to reflect on the sacrifice and bravery
of Liverpool people in the city's darkest hour.

Top Customer Reviews
There are no wide panoramic photos showing the blanket devastation of Liverpool seen in some other publications as this book instead concentrates in more detail on each area of the city by showing specific streets and buildings.
I feel that some of the photos could maybe have been of a better standard but overall its a very good source of information for those wanting to know what life was like in Liverpool during the blitz.
