Under a tenner for 4 discs of live UFO? - I ordered this before the release date not knowing what it contained but thinking that whatever it was it HAD to be great value...and I was not disappointed.
Disc 1 contains the hard to find 'On With The Action' set from the Roundhouse on 25.04.76 but with an extra track....a cover of the Small Faces "All Or Nothing".
Great sounding gig with rare appearances of No Heavy Petting stuff e.g. Can You Roll Her & Highway Lady.
Disc 2 contains the 'Regenerator' gig at Hammersmith on the Mechanix Tour in early 1982...but without the bonus track 'Light Out'.
I did like the Chapman years as they were full of new ideas and experimentations and great playing by a most underrated player...I have all his Lone Star stuff and its awesome.
Discs 3 & 4 contains the Vienna set from 1998 similar to Werewolves of London (Wolverhampton actually...I remember it well) but the Vienna gig just seems better...
I did like the Schenker years blah blah......
I do like the UFO years...I grew up with them...keep going guys...
...anymore of this low cost, great sounding live stuff?

This cd is a great buy if you haven't got any of the previous zoom club record releases. This is a 4cd box set that includes on with the action (live 1976), 2 discs from the live on earth box set (live in Austria 1998) & the regenerator live (1982).Other than that it's great value you don't need me to tell you how great the music is!

some great performances by Schenker. . really like the early 70,s show as that is when I was bonkers for them. Would have loved to be able to hear that alone in 1976!. Great band. good value box set for all ufo fans

Yes its good value and great live music from my favourite rock band. It's also a good way to get a copy of the "On With The Action" set from the Roundhouse. But unless you must own absolutely everything they've produced it's yet another live offering from an already well stocked catalogue. Most fans probably already have fairly recent releases of most of this material. The updated and remastered copies of "Phenomenon", "Force It" and "No Heavy Pettin'" are fabulous and I highly recommend these. It's great to have old music that is carefully enhanced to keep pace with technology. Perhaps I'm in the minority but I'm getting board of all this live and compilation stuff that keeps flooding the market. It's good in that it keeps UFO in the public domain and it gives them exposure. There is a fabulous collection of original studio albums that people should be encouraged to search out and buy instead. So leave this for the collectors. UFO have already produced the best live album ever so buy it instead if by some miracle you don't own a copy of "Strangers in the Night"

5.0 out of 5 stars ANOTHER GREAT LIVE BOX SET 19 Dec. 2013
By Edward J. mccarthy Jr. - Published on Amazon.com

this is yet another great live box set by ufo, this is one of quite a few unofficial bootleg boxes that have come out over the past 12 or 13 years, i have all these other shows in one format or another, i even have regenerater ( the 1982 show) as a picture disc as the label that put that boot out (zoomclub) did a nice job on it, my only complaint would be with the amazing live shot on the cover of the box and the way it is presented WHY THE 1982 MECHANIX SHOW IN THIS BOX??? dont get me wrong I LOVE THE PAUL CHAPMAN YEARS but to put one of those shows on a box like this that features 2 schenker gigs can be misleading to some fans, regardless i love this, i got this a while ago and i never get sick of it, i have many ufo bootlegs as ufo are one of my TOP 3 FAVORITE BANDS OF ALL TIME!!!!! i can only hope there is some more shows like these to be unearthed one show im hoping makes it to cd someday is the german gig with BERNIE MARSDEN ON GUITAR FROM EARLY 1973, i have seen it in japan but its always a cdr i dont buy those, anyway these 3 shows sound great but remember they are technically bootlegs so dont expect strangers in the night or lights out in tokyo quality sound............ enjoy the music

3.0 out of 5 stars A mixed bag but worth considering 26 Mar. 2009
By The Lyricologist - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
Here's the good news:
* three UFO concerts on four discs
* a reasonably bargain price
* all three shows are relatively hard to find on their own and they represent distinctly different periods in UFO's history
* the version of Self-Made Man on the Vienna disc is positively ferocious and is clearly better than that on Werewolves of London

On the down side:
* all the material here is previously available
* the sound quality on the Roundhouse and Regenerator discs leaves a good bit to be desired
* the Regenerator disc omits Lights Out, which is a bonus cut on the stand-alone version of Regenerator
* the track list on the Vienna set is identical to that on Werewolves (although Vienna sounds better)
* packaging is thin, minimal information...this is a shame as, by comparison, the packaging for the stand-alone version of Regenerator is excellent

In my case, I already had Regenerator and decided to buy this specifically for the Roundhouse disc (which is insanely priced all by itself...this show is ok, but it ain't worth $40!) so purchasing this box set was a no-brainer. I'm thrilled to have the material on Roundhouse (even with it's audio flaws) so I'll call this a victory.

Not the place to start for prime live UFO. I'd recommend (in order) Strangers, BBC Radio 1, Lights Out Live In Japan, and Showtime all as better products than any of this...but to me those are all pretty high standards to live up to. Recognizing that it's place in line is behind those, Throughout the Years is a good addition to the collection, especially for the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Three UFO "live sets" in one package... 29 Jun. 2008
By Beandog - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
This box set includes three of UFO's many live albums in one package; "On With The Action"-The Roundhouse 1976, "Regenerator"-The Hammersmith Odeon 1982 and "Live On Earth/Vienna"-2 discs recorded in Austria 1998. I picked this set up mainly for the Regenerator disc(usually fairly tough to find/expensive), since I already have Strangers In The Night and the "Vienna" album, and if you already have these three albums there's nothing new here. If you don't have them, or want to hear the band in a live setting from the "Early Schenker" days through the "Paul Chapman Era" to the "Schenker Reunion" this set does the trick. The packaging is pretty simple, just the discs sleeved in a box with a few pictures - so nothing special. This set can also be fairly hard to get(not in stock alot), but I caught it in stock at a great price and if you see it and don't have these you should definitely pick it up.

4.0 out of 5 stars What A Treat! 24 Mar. 2010
By GMAN - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
I came to the UFO fold late...basically picking up a copy of Walk On Water on a whim...but have since done my best to get everything from this band that I can get my hands on (not a very easy job here in North America!).
UFO is just a crackling live band and, in my opinion, their live versions of these songs sound better than the originals and this collection makes you realize that Strangers in the Night was no fluke.
The "Live Throughout the Years" concept is also one that I would like to see other renowned live acts follow (like The Who for example).
A solid 5-stars if the package included some sort of booklet or more information but still; solid rock-and-roll from solid rock-and-roll veterans.
