Product description

Product Description

Amongst the tracks featured are the UK hit single Teenage Depression , further singles Writing On The Wall and Wooly Bully , and covers of classic songs such as 96 Tears (originally recorded by Question Mark & the Mysterians), The Kids Are Alright (originally recorded by The Who) and Gloria (originally recorded by Them). A raucous crowd and a great performance make this a must have for any Hot Rods fan. Eddie And The Hot Rods are still performing and will be touring the UK and Europe throughout the year in support of the release.

I was lucky enough to see Eddie And The Hot Rods live at the tender age of 13 at their peak in July 1977. The life haven't been same since. Often I have wondered what would I make of them if I was sent back to that summer night and saw them with my 50 year old eyes. Thanks for this DVD/CD I have an idea. I think I would still be amazed.

Eddie and the Hot Rods were swept away by the punk wave that followed them and haven't always been given the credit they deserve. They were a great band. The quality of the sound and video of this compilation is not perfect but it it still captures the energy and vibe the band had at the time. Brings back fond memories. This is something I have always wished I had in my collection and now I do. Thanks for publishing it.

Not 5 stars because not complete (I think) and original tape source loses sound in a couple of places & introductions. Otherwise fab, remember it well as was there....

I was actually at this concert, with my then girl friend. I was lucky enough, or so I thought, to be in the front row. The support band were Ultravox [ the Jon Foxx incarnation ] and they were really good, playing most of, if not all their first eponymous album - infinitely better than the more acceptable Vienna period. However just before Eddie and the Hot Rods were about to come on stage and during their entrance, the surrounding crowd turned very ugly indeed [ they weren't very good looking to start with! ] As I got up, as the crowd around me were too,to see better, someone three rows behind me launched himself onto my seat, which, had I been sitting there at the time, he would've landed on me! Just then a chap in an Old man Mask [ popular at the time ] was walking along the wall that surrounds the photographers pit [ six foot deep, which poor Frank Zappa was pushed into by a jealous fan back in the early seventies ] and jumped in front of my 5ft tall girlfriend, who had just seen what happened to my seat a moment ago, and now saw this and turned hysterical. Happily, to cut a long story short, a nearby very kind fellow helped me to get her out of the melee and to relative safety. I'm sure the gig was good, what I heard as I was taking her to somewhere to calm down, sounded good! Thank you too to that fella by the way, never did get the chance to thank him properly!
