This album of the Climax Blues Band , finds them at their creative peak.
The playing and timing is spot on with a great rendition of the instrumental
Flight , and a blistering slide guitar piece from pete haycock called
country hat . The sound is excellent . Well worth buying if your into
rock jazz blues

A really excellent live album....The Stafford based Climax Blues Band really rocked it at The Academy of Music in New York with the concert being transmitted live on FM radio at the time. There were 2 versions of the album available initially...a single album and this, the doulbe album.... From the start the guitar sounds from Pter Hayckck are superb with the rhythm of John Cuffley on the drums abd Derek Holts superb bass driving the band through the set. Colin Cooper must have had super-strength lungs to sing, play sax and harmonica in the manner that you can hear on this stunning album. Their true quality was always there to be heard when performing live - without doubt . and this is a truly great live album. Listen then purchase and enjoy the sound of a great concert!!!!!! by an equally great and often under-rated band!!!!

The band was excellent although someone said Colin Cooper looked like Victor Meldrew's grandfather. I remember hearing this band on the new Radio One In Concert series, often. They were a great, fun band with excellent musicianship.
